sam09 i do indeed know the period you are talking about - it was the 10 minutes just after half time - it was easily the best atmosphere i ever experienced at a sporting event - was quite intimidating though. bocerty (Tyrone) - Posts: 539 - 31/07/2009 15:10:16 371627 Link 0 |
Bocerty, ii know exactly what you're saying. That's why they are the best fans. It is intimidating isn't it when they get their voice. Like you said hair on the back of the neck stuff. Cant wait for the game on Monday and I'm sure there'll be plenty of that at the match. Noise levels will be a multiple of that if they beat us in a close game which I expect will happen. Serious atmosphere. thykingdomcome (Kerry) - Posts: 1206 - 31/07/2009 15:58:07 371729 Link 0 |

1. Ciaran Macdonald's winning point in the all ireland football semi final against the Dubs. Longjumper (Mayo) - Posts: 39 - 31/07/2009 20:25:18 372133 Link 0 |
By the way this is only in my own lifetime: Kerry fan: 1. Maurice Fitz's point in Thurles against the Dubs. Could any other player have done it in the circumstances?? 2. Kerry vs Dublin sf '06. Fist time I ever saw the two clash in Croker. Have never experienced an atmosphere like it, great football. Hopefully we'll have the same result Monday. 3. Donaghy's arrival in Croke Park in '06 when he left Francie on his back-side and scored that goal to help us get revenge on Armagh. Neutral: 1. To witness the colour and emotion in '02 when the sea of orange poured into Croke park was a painful pleasure to watch. If your going to lose to an AI final I can honestly say there is no better team to lose to. No goading, just pure joy. 2. Cork vs Waterford Munster final '04. Paul Flynn scoring a goal only he could imagine scoring, Ken McGrath putting in a breathtaking performance. This was the game that really put waterford hurling on the map. 3. Can't really remember the exact score but I think it was th AI sf between Galway and Kilkenny in '05 where it ended up 5-18 to 4-18 or something like that (I'm sure one of ye will tell me the correct score). But it was an unbelievably exciting match. It was almost like tennis...end to end stuff. Unreal!! Keane16 (Kerry) - Posts: 306 - 31/07/2009 20:59:54 372172 Link 0 |
