369067 Aye dellboy! They should get their free tickets cancelled! Thats no excuse, just because you live beside somewhere you get free tickets! Thats like saying if you live in the Brandywell area of Derry you get into Celtic park for free. They are never satisfied!

Orlaith/niamh/derrygurlie or what ever you calling yourselves these days would you have any idea of what its like to have a 80,000 capacity stadium and having limited access in your own area for mosts weekends in the summer, with GAA, Soccer, Rugby and music concerts on a regular basis, i doubt it, your comparison to Celtic park that will be full once every 2-3 years is laughable, with regards to dellyboy why do people take him seriously? he is obviously a young fella who had his world of warcraft account cancelled by his mammy and he is now chanelling his addiction into this website

to say that clonliffe road is in the north strand area is hardly inaccurate.

plus, can people stop going on about the local residents getting free tickets please? the residents are entered in a draw to get some free tickets or have the option to buy tickets at cost price. the residents area is large (from botanic road to north strand) so the odds of actually getting tickets is quite small. i've got free tickets once and had the option to buy tickets on one other occasion.

there is more information here, if you actually want to have some facts for your argument.

Cheers Alvin. How many free tickets do they get in total? Does it vary from event to event e.g. concert / All Ireland Final etc. or are they given a certain allocation regardless?

Ignore posts that insult you because not worth the hassle .

It's a tough one. People are entitled to live with a bit of peace and harmony though surely anyone buying/renting a house in the vicinity of Croke Park should have known the score. Unfortunately in every society there will always be a minority who have to shoulder the hassle for the greater good. The GAA and Dublin city council should sympathise and do all they can for these residents who have to realise that's the way it is. Maybe an agreed sale of properties is the way ahead.

LISTEN TO ME...... ITS THIS SIMPLE

THE GAA & U2 TOUR MANAGER HAD TO APOLOGISE TO THE RESIDENTS.........!

IF YOU HAVE TO APOLOGISE FOR SOMETHING PUBLICALLY IN THE MEDIA, THE CHANCES ARE YOU WERE WRONG IN THE FIRST PLACE.

THUS MEANING THAT THE RESIDENTS WERE RIGHT!!...... THEY WERE TREATED BADLY BY BOTH PARTIES AND THAT'S BEEN ACKNOWLEDGED BY THOSE PARTIES INVOLVED!!!!.... LIKE HOW STUPID ARE YOU PEOPLE?

THEY WERE RIGHT TO PROTEST. PEOPLE JUST CANNOT BE WALKED OVER LIKE THAT. ...............................ITS WRONG.

I sincerely apologise for the block capital post...but it just seems that this thread needs to just drop off at this stage. It's just silly and certain posters involved have really gone down the pan in my books.

Who the hell do you think you are!!!... Arrogant, ignorance of the highest order.

As a neighbour of Croke Park and a massive supporter of all things GAA, I have no problem at all with matches being played there or concerts for that matter or even the odd foreign sport. It is an inconvenience at times when the road is blocked off or people decide to pee on your door or some loo laa hopes in your car thinking it's a taxi but like you and others say I knew that when I was buying.
What is annoying is the way the GAA have had total disregard for the residents, especially of late, they decided without consultation that it would be ok to have heavy machinery working 48hours straight and not have to inform the residents never mind apologies for it.
As other posters have said, it's just bad manners and all the protestors wanted was recognition of that fact. (I was not a protestor by the way)
Up the Dubs!
