In fairness lads, looking at the posts on this thread, Dell seems to be in the majority. If ye don't like his opinion and that of the majority then theres no need to get personal about it. I agree with him 100% that the residents shouldn't be there if they want to complain about matches and concerts. I'm sure there's plenty more houses in Dublin. The GAA seemed to be accomodating them very well with freebies here there and everywhere. As Dell said, they didn't start complaining til after the concert and got their value from it.

dellboy and lifford gael two HS posters who totally know the in s and outs of the meetings between the residents the gaa and u2 , the voices of reason maybe we could have built a camp to put them in that would have kept them pesky protesters quite and we can throw them mayo protesters in with them as well

With all the suffering going on in the world today, the residents have very little to bother them. Wouldn't like to have seen the Clonliffe Road area as part of London during the World War II with air raid sirens keeping them awake all night for 6 years. I suppose they'd have complained about the noise then too and asked the War Cabinet to grant them special status and turn the sirens off around the Clonliffe Road area. Pity about all the bombs dropping round them though. If I remember, rightly most of the civilians in the cities moved out of their homes during the War anyway. Just don't understand the residents at all.

Just don't understand the residents at all. Liffordgael that post you made is wrong how old are you a little piece of history below learn

On the night of 31 May 1941, aircraft of the German Luftwaffe dropped four high-explosive bombs on the North Strand Road area, killing 34 and injuring 90. Three hundred houses were damaged or destroyed.

It was not clear if this was a reprisal for the aid of the Dublin Fire Brigade during bombing raids on Belfast or if it had been a tactic to end Irish neutrality.

On 19 June, the Irish government announced that the government of the Nazi Germany had apologised and offered compensation.

Speculation over the reason for the raid has included the possibility that it was the unintended consequence of equipment used to jam radio navigation used by the bombers.

Dellboy dont think you know your history us Dubs know the history of our city.............shame on you with your snide remarks
