i dont agree pullhard.I dont believe Caherline would have qualified had they been in group 1 or group 2.

I agree, I dont believe caherline are a threat to be honest-they got a nice group and while they are 2 out of 2 bruff will be by far their biggest challenge so far. if they have any aspirations to winning they should be beating bruff as I dont think bruff will win it out for a few years as they are too young. To be honest caherline have eamon hourigan, brendan hourigan, andrew brennan, hugh mcguire and mike mccarthy but outside these five hurlers they struggle and mike mccarthy is struggling with the step(er) up to intermediate this year in my opinion. I would love to see them put it up to bruff but to be honest I see them struggling.

Caherline beating Bruff on Sunday wouldn't be a total shock. Both are through to the QFs so the edge to this game will be tempered a bit which will suit Caherline. Also Caherline are virtually playing at home (a couple of miles up the road in Kilteely), a venue they know well from their Junior days

Caherlines 1st priorty this year would have been to avoid relegation and they achieved that comfortably. Now they're in a county 1/4 final at the 1st attempt and everything from here on is a bonus. Nobody expects them to go any further and i'm sure that suits them fine.

Knockaderry have nearly 5 uninterrupted weeks to prepare for their quarter final while ballylanders are playing football championship twice in the meantime. For this reason alone Knockaderry will beat Glenroe eventhough I believe they would do anyway.

Despite a seven point win for Bruff over Caherline last night, the only concrete fact that could be taken from the match was that neither of these teams will be in the shake up. A few good hurlers in each team but both are carrying some deadweight also.

Centreback - I take it you were at the Bruff v Caherline game. I think you're a bit hasty in dismissing both sides. Dont forget a) there was nothing at stake, b) pitch was a disgrace- the grass was several inches too high for championship hurling and c) the very poor weather conditions. Thought that Bruff were comfortable all through the game and were able to put distance between themselves and Caherline anytime Caherline threatened to close the gap. Bruff probably won't win the county this year as they are very young but you'd have to say that there really isn't any outstanding team left in this years competition.
Liberites would appear the obvious choice but they seem to be perennial chokers. I think Glenroe are the team to beat.

Bruff had a seven point cushion at the final whistle and deserved their win although i Thought the game lacked championship intencity. The grass was ankle height and the dressing rooms were too small , saw players having to tog off outside, not on really. Pitch was barely playable. Bruff have a good side with some fine young talent and could will take Cappamore in the 1/4's.

Bruff fully deservrd their win in pretty awful conditions for hurling.

well OUTSTANDING Ballybrown have already beaten Monaleen so they def wont be going down!! If Mungret are so good why have they only won one match in the championship this year? - South Liberties V Glenroe for the county final!!!

Considering the hidings last seasons inter champions Dromin-Athlacca are taking and are on their way straight back down, who'd want to go up senior unprepared.

good point east gael but i think if a team wanted it enough they wouldnt be in a position to come back down so soon if at all!! out of the 4 teams who played the relagation semis 2 of them have been promoted in the last 2 seasons! i think D/A will drop down again but i dont think they will go back up for a few yrs!! there are a few intermediate teams capable of surviving up senior - just look @ how well G/B are doing!!!

Who are favorites for the dreaded drop to Junior A?Monaleen await Hospital-Herbertstown or Patrickswell in the relegation final.

Monaleen are the favourites to go down as they only have one chance left to avoid relegation. Hospital and the 'Well both have two chances and so for now Monaleen are favourites to go down. In fairness Hospital should not have too many problems agaisnt the 'Well who are probably the weakest of the three teams. In a final, I'd expect Monaleen to beat the 'Well but that said relegation type hurling won't suit Monaleen so you never know. To be honest, long term Monaleen are looking at becoming a junior hurling club. Years of neglecting their underage hurling teams will catch up with them sooner or later.

Still believe Knockaderry will take Glenroe. Not a fashionable prediction I agree but if Ballybrown were playing Glenroe a lot of people would be tipping ballyb to win and Knockaderry literally destroyed them.Im going to stick my neck out and tip Mungret and knockaderry to win their respective 1/4 final games.Along with Bruff they are the best hurling sides remaining IMO.Knockaderry have improved a lot.

Midfield man i agree with you that Knockaderry have a great chance of going through to the semi finals. But I would have considers that the managment team will not line out the best team and play player in there best position. Tom Condon was brillant centre back probable the best at intermediate level and Knockaderry play him mid field does not make any sense. In there last game he moved back to the half back line and tidied up a lot of ball and stopped Ballybricken from comming back intothe game.

Also young O Brien has come on as a sub in the last two games and has made a hugh difference yet he never seems to be given the chance to start. ( you would wonder how long he will put up with this)

so if knockaderry line out there best players in their best positions and forget about family ties etc they could be senior next year without a doubt.
