Yes Caherline had a good win on sunday night against kileedy. They showed good skills and hunger for it.
Can See them getting to the quarter finals at least.
A lot of close games though in first round of matches.Could all change again after round 2.

caherline beating kileedy was the upset of the senior and intermedite championships so far..........fair play to caherline who had many a dissapointment in the junior grade but they wouldnt want to take their eye off the ball as kileedy are noted battlers and could well win their two remaining games..

Knockaderry and Kildimo were two i thought might also struggle but IHC Rd 1 might make me re-think - Rd 2 will be key to see if some results were just once offs and everything returns to the form book

A review of some games not mentioned in previous posts.

Hospital V NCW
Hospital H looked excellent during the first half against a decimated NCW team, but when the pressure came on they buckled. NCW were poor in the first half but greatly improved in the second scoring 2 outstanding goals. Sterling performances by their Goalie and Full back line which kept them in the game. HH have some fine players notably no.8 (one to watch)

In terms of Relegation can't look further that HH, Mungret, P. Well, Killedy??

Quarter finals will be sorted after the next round with Ballybrown the early favourites to lift the cup.

One to watch: Ballybrickan

Great to see Feenagh beating F/Castlemahon in the West Junior championship, hurling always prevails over mulukers!!

The standard of Hurling in the West has hit an all time low.....

Killedy will struggle as will NCW and Knockaderry to stay up.

West limerick has only now 3 senior teams, 3 intermediate teams and too many Junior A teams.

Would it be a option for F/Castlemahon and Killedy to join up seeing that they have very little underage players coming up.

Also the possibility of Knockaderry and Feenagh doing the same.

NCW have a large pool of players to choose under age and are always in the top bracket under age however only a handful; of these players make the breakthrough into the senior club team.

Comments Welcome!!!

instead of joining up clubs. would it not be more in line for these clubs to get off their backsides and start bringing through more younger players to the adult grades.

Most of these clubs are well off their backsides already anf doing their best to promote hurling in West limerick - all but NCW. As far as I know Knockaderry are Premier Minor this year on merit. Just imagine what Ger Downes would do if he had the population of NCW to draw on for his minor team!. These clubs have the coaching set up, all they lack are numbers.

Please is this the guy who does the radio........petermoss get a grip of urself. I know they won county last year and yes a good achievement but that team was always gud going up along . Dont think this guy is anyting special......he inherited that team
Feenagh are in major decline as are castlemahon.....kderry will survive for a bit but none of these guys have made an impression on the intermeadite team tis year. Greaney is very very average and selfish with ball......as we all saw wit limerick minors.
As for intermeadite honours usually contenders liberties ballybrown, ballybricken, bruff.......wouldnt write off ncw had a real great win vs HH and missing loads of fellas. . Nix got winnin goal and was class finish....teres a young fella worth watchin out for. In darren mccarthy prob the best full back at this level.
Relegation......iv said before kderry even tho the won openin game.....all isnt rite within camp wit players and certain management, a lot of fellas walkin off panel
D well will prob survive again just about.......and wouldnt it funny if kileedy where dragged into the mess another club where management and players are not gettin on...esp as they thought they would walk to the title
Winners -South Liberties (vs NCW in final)
Releagtion- Knockaderry (vs P'well)

Clearly you have a grudge against knockaderry. As for players walking off the panel thats blatant lies.Begrudgery, begrudgery my friend.

gandwalways. i think u are 1 of these lads that talks before you think. you say that ballybrown and ballybricken could end up winners then in the same breath knockaderry go down. what happened mungret. the 2 ballys will both have to beat mungret and knockaderry for the both of them to qualify which you are right could indeed happen but knockaderry have that victory over mungret so can't finish bottom. doesn't add up my friend. please explain

Being Realistic favoutites now for Relegation are H/H, P. Well, Mungret.
This is only after the 1st round, I would be surprised if Knockaderry get relegated as they have a average team.

With reference to Ger Downes and the Knockaderry minor team. Fair play to him in guiding his team to this honour. He mush have given a speech similar to John Kenny's in the D'unbelievables.

In terms of Western Gales, I think that the West board needs to appoint a seperate management team who are not on the West Board. If the best team was picked there would be a good chance. Very surprising there is no one on from NCW or Monage.

Tips for Hurling
Senior: Killmalock
Intermidate: Ballybrown
Junior A: Ballyagran
Junior B: No Idea

Relegation : Tournafulla and Mungret.............

1 Peckory - I have no grudge against kderry i just feel overrated at this level. Hav some the best hurlers in the west in hanley and condon.
I can only go by wat iv heard and that is that 3 players walked from panel.

2 Pigseye Ballybrown finish on 4pts(beatin kderry and losing to mungret which is a huge derby in the city and mungret are dyin to beat them).......Ballybricken on 4pts(beatin mungret and kderry).......Mungret on 2pts(beatin ballybrown) .........Kderry 2pts....(beat mungret)
I believe that would mean a playoff??
From wat i saw kderry robbed mungret in openin game.

Kildimo to beat a injury depleated NCW team.
I have heard NCW missing up to 5 players for this game due to injury.

Killedy to loose,
Knockaderry to Loose

All west teams to loose next weekend.
Western Gales to record a handy win.

Gerry Molonux for the Limerick Senior team when Richie steps down

Is that Ciaran Carey Full back for Limerick Intermidates, surely it would be better served having a up and coming talent in there, someone who is hoping to break into the senior team. No David Clancy which is slightly odd as this Lad was on the Senior panal up to a few weeks ago

Best of Luck against clare on sunday, here's to another great summer like 2007, just go 1 step further
