aw is somebody a little uptight?

in the genre of music gallagher is good at he is far better than albarn, Gallagher acknowledges that he can only do what he does and doesn't try to do anything else. Stick to what you are good at. Music and the world has changed considerably since the 90s, there isn't the same hysteria, the internet has given far more options etc, whether this is good or bad is yet to be judged but the one thing that seems to be true, no band is likely to hit the heights of morning glory, playing knebworth and the hysteria that followed if for some time.... not even the current oasis. Their past two albums were extremely good (don't let the critics form your opinion, try and form your own) just not as good as definitely maybe or morning glory, not many albums are!!!!

I am not a fan of the other stuff Damon has done but far play to him for trying his hand at different things. Blur were good but as you have acknowledged oasis have a far bigger fan base for a reason, people in general prefer their music, they judge it as being better.

The difference is Gallagher will be remembered as a legend in generations to come whereas albarn will not talented and all as he may be.

as you say music has changed and moved on etc. and thats why albarns first gorillaz album sold over 6 million while demon days was even bigger especially in america. albarn is far more versitile and thus can move with the times. and thats why oasis are struggling these days to sell records. dig out your soul sold under 1.5 million. demon days outsold it by around 5 times. oasis are living of their first two albums. and i have every oasis album. dig out your soul was good enough but the previous two apart from a few song on each were rubbish. gorillaz 3rd is on the way. if its bigger than demon days and makes more inroads in america it could sell close to 10 million, while the gallaghers are heading down the road of ocean colour seen, charlatans and supergrass i.e has beens

3241 in a previous post you described dig out your soul as a complete flop, yet in one of your next posts it was good enough. if you're opinions are that easily influenced by people then i don't think many people can take your opinions seriously!

Could I argue that selling records has very little to do with musical ability.

For example Spice Girls, Boyzone, Robin ? Williams and such have sold millions of records and wouldn't recognise a middle 8.

Has Albarn any talent? Noel Gallagher seems to be a nice bloke with some talent.

But compared to say Mozart? Now he had talent.

Point taken, but it is a bad argument by Oasis fans.

Any decent musician or group disappears from the charts once they have made it, and go off and produce good stuff.

To be honest, I never heard of Blur and only vaguely know Oasis. I remember their da in the pubs in Manchester when I played music.

Playing traditional/folk, and listening to the same music I have listened to since 1971.

I do not watch TV, well some sport and the Sopranos, and do not listen to the radio.

My biggest moment of shame in my life was proving that I had never heard of a song called "Angels" by Robin Williams. So I started to download it to listen to it. My son, the musical genius, arrived home and simply said "That's Robin Williams. Is there something the matter with you?".

well robbie williams is a talentless ****** so dont worry about it. just listen to some songs in youtube called "out of time", "sweet song" and "good song" and give them a few listens. pure brilliance

If you had a rifle with 2 bullets and you had to shoot 2 out of the following 3,who would you shoot?

Damon Albarn,Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.

You can't shoot the same person twice :)

Just curious.
