mayo need proper games at this level.
no disrespect to meath or limerick but we'll be facing the dubs or kerry without any real test.

Either team should beat Mayo. Personally I can't see us beating Limerick and I'd expect them to take Mayo in the quarters.

So a terrible Division four team is going to beat the a reasonably good Division 2 team and then go on to beat the Connaught Champions and a Division 1 team and get to an All Ireland semi final! I dont see how that would make sense.

i see limerick beating meath, although this is purely because of the fright they gave to cork in the munster final. meath are up to nothing this year. mayo will beat either team handily enough i would imagine, at least 6 points. watch mayo this year, they could be dark horses to mount an outside challenge

mayo are progressing, a game against a physical side like meath/limerick will stand to them.

Meath bet mayo in that all ireland in 1996 i think. When meath beat limerick they are going to face a mayo side hell bent on revenge for their rematch since that all ireland.

paddyogall the league means nothing. we'll beat limerick. i stand by the prediction i made earlier this year. i said if we get mayo we'll beat them by at least 5 points (i think thats what it was) and we will

Limerick or meath are well capable of beating mayo (easiest draw possible for both teams). What exactley are we judging mayo on, scrapping a win past galway?

lets see who we get first - on paper we have better players and management, but things dont always work out that way.
we will be in a dogfight of a game whovever comes through

In all fairness whoever wins Between meath n Limerick (REckon meath might nick it) will be very confident of beatin mayo. Like mayo were the weakest Provincial champions in my view. Come on you Royals.

If we dont beat either Meath/limerick then it would be the biggest embarressment ever for Mayo Football, far worse the the hammering by Cork in 1993 and capulations by Kerry in 2004 and 2006.

You're right. It would make just as much sense as, say, Wicklow beating Down (a reasonable Div. 2 team) or Antrim beating Donegal (also a reasonable Div. 2 team). Limerick also beat Tipperary. Guess what division they're in next year.
Stop acting ignorant. You know as well as I do that league form counts for nothing when it comes to the championship. Sure Kerry are league champions so by your reasoning they should be beating everyone out of sight in the championship, especially those "terrible Division four teams" they have come up against recently.
