If Tyrone can not easliy beat Kildare I will be very surprised. This is the round that Tyrone has got ambushed in in the past- no way will this happen again. Tyrone to have the game sown up by half time. Kildare to come back- make it a cracker to watch and then Tyrone to edge off again. aabb (Tyrone) - Posts: 65 - 27/07/2009 13:51:15 364072 Link 0 |

tyrone should win this one handy enough id say. kildare were very lucky against wicklow and were blessed they didn't concede 2/3 more goals, tyrone will be more clinical! the wicklow running game also caused them a few problems and tyrone are the masters of this. also kildare lacked a bit of experience/bottle against dublin when they had the game in their hands and tyrone are the kings of 'don't panic' football, harte will have seen the weaknesses and will exploit them. kildare have a great team there potentially, but are still on the learning curve(just look at cork) and id say they will have better years in the near future. jaffacake (Meath) - Posts: 720 - 27/07/2009 14:23:59 364152 Link 0 |
Dub1, what I was wondering is, is what is the logic in your thinking? omaghredhand (Tyrone) - Posts: 3656 - 27/07/2009 14:30:32 364166 Link 0 |

A team with O Neill, Cavanagh, Mulligan, Hart, Jordan versus a team with Rainbow, Foley, Flaherty, McGovern? I know who my money is on. Barney_Legend (Laois) - Posts: 301 - 27/07/2009 14:45:31 364205 Link 0 |

Thats true Barney, however Rainbow only played 2 minutes and McGovern has nt played in over 15 years!! However a team with Smithy, Doyle, Earley, Flanagan and conway should not just be respected but feared. Btw Flats was awesome on Saturday. Barney, you bet away. Like I said, you have a great chance of predicting Kildare's demise seeing as only one team can actually win the A-I this year. gearoid (Kildare) - Posts: 72 - 27/07/2009 15:21:18 364317 Link 0 |
It's just a hunch Tomaoo7,I also think your boys will do it and I am lookin forward to attending that particular game. fredrickwood (Roscommon) - Posts: 2871 - 27/07/2009 15:27:08 364331 Link 0 |
Goal, I would say feared is the wrong word. Respected, certainly. You can be well assured that Tyrone will give Kildare the utmost respect. The recent experiences against Meath and Sligo will ensure that Tyrone will not underestimate Kildare one bit as well as the McGeeney/Grimley factor. Yes on paper Tyrone should win but as you know yourself the game is played on grass. omaghredhand (Tyrone) - Posts: 3656 - 27/07/2009 15:29:51 364339 Link 0 |
Theres no reason why Kildare shouldnt be in the all white, tyrone will probably don their red strip. On who will win? Well , i think Kildare will do it, some people say kildare put in a bad performance on sat evening, i was at the game and it was nothing short of a determined and gutsy performance from both teams. We had the wind against us in the second half wich by no means hampered our efforts of sewing up the game inside of 50 minutes. instead we let wicklow back in it and we were lucky not to concede a 2nd goal before Tony Hannon's effort, yet despite this we had our purple patches and in the end our class showed. Yes, our defence was shaky at times against Wicklow , but we are still one of the highest scoing teams in the country , and the whole team are super-fit and are physically strong too boot. Look at it this way, we have beaten Wicklow , who in turn have beaten not one , but three of the Ulster teams , Ulster supposedly being the strongest province? Tyrone havent had a real test thus far , they coasted through Ulster with ease , and Derry and Armagh, the other two Ulster teams who were tipped as All-Ireland contenders ,are now out of the race. Tyrone may be ranked as the number one team , but Geezer will have the lads well drilled for this one, Kildare have had their hard tests against Dublin and Wicklow and will be oozing confidence, we hit 18 from play against Dublin, if we can muster up anything like that against the Red-Handers, it will be a cracking game of football , and ultimately we may very well emerge as victors. This is the teast Tyrone have been waiting for , lets hope they fail! You have to beat the best to be the best . COME ON THE LILLIES!!!!!!! For all blarneys negative speak about Rainbow, he did field a great ball at the end of the wicklow game. JPM1981 (Kildare) - Posts: 825 - 27/07/2009 16:19:04 364444 Link 0 |
Whats this 'surprised' craic if tyrone dont beat kildare and dont beat them by a landslide?? As micko famously said its 15 on 15 and theres no reason in this world why kildare cant overcome tyrone, kildare are going very nicely so far this year and beat a wicklow side that had tonnes of confidence going into last wekends clash. Now fair enough to compare wicklow and tyrone would be downright foolish and im not going down that avenue nut in terms of kildares chances, i rate them as having a very good one. They have a lot of games under their belt and their form in league division 2 was encouraging also. A very close game in the making, sure ill go for kildare just to show the pessimists. Gabzer, also bear in mind that you conceded 2-15 to a team that played 50 minutes with only 14 men. Somehow I don't think that you will get the freedom of Croke Park that Dublin afforded you and yet at the end of the day you still got beat. You can't really use Wicklow's results against the weaker Ulster teams to justify how good Kildare are. They played all these games at home and once they came out of Aughrim they failed. I would suggest that if Wicklow had have travelled to either Enniskillen, Newry or Cavan then they would have got beaten. However, I do think that Kildare are an improving team all joking aside but it will take an almighty performance by them allied to a below par performance by Tyrone for Kildare to win. It is possible but improbable. omaghredhand (Tyrone) - Posts: 3656 - 27/07/2009 16:35:52 364493 Link 0 |
