Tyrone v Kildare-Real tie of the round

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

I suppose with all the Hoopla of the Dublin /Kerry "reunion" filling column inches for the next week,it would be easy to forget that the Tyrone/Kildare match is a game that has the potential to leave us on the edge of our seats,I fully expect this to be an epic.Tyrone will need to play in red id say,or Kildare might have to become the lilyblacks. So for the traditional tie of the round-Dubs vs Kerry but for me the real tie of the round-Tyrone and Kildare.

It is a soft draw for Tyrone, a blind man would see that.

This is goin to be a crackin match. The decades finest, the unbeatable Tyrone against a free scoring Kildare team. I smell an ambush.

Kildares defence will let them down in this one.. Wicklow had them on the wrack and should have scored another couple of goals.. Tyrone by 4-6 points

have to agree with fredrickwood..think this will be an absolute cracker of a match and will be much better than the dubs and kerry. will kildare or tyrone have to change their jerseys for this? how is that decided?can't remember kildare ever wearing anything other than their white jerseys..

im not feeling confident but then again i'm a bit of a pessimist. shades of 2007 about this one. tyrone get out of ulster without hitting top gear. meet leinster opposition in the quarters and get turned over. think we have better footballers than kildare but their pace will cause us serious problems. could be a draw or a point in it either side

We've a change strip of green. Wore it against Monaghan this year in the league and indeed against Tyrone in last years league. I'd imagine they do it by tossing a coin?

Now now no fighting. This is an interesting match. At times against Wicklow Kildare looked brilliant and at others awful. They drift in and out of games and Tyrone might punish them for that BUT Kildare a big strong skillful side. Do they have the belief? Wouldn't be at all surprised if Kildare won this but Tyrone have still to show their true form this year. Stephen O'Neill has yet to hit top form and Tyrone just love Croke Park.

They are all huge games for every team involved.
I'd say the following will progress.
Tyrone
Dublin
Mayo
Cork

Which will be great for football as each province will be represented by a team.

Joan...GAA rules state that both teams must change strip if there is a clash although it doesn't happen always...

Tyrone will beat Kildare by at least 5 points.
Dublin will beat Kerry by 4.
Cork by 7.
Meath by 3.

Ya this is going to be an interesting tussle.Tyrone have been caught cold in the past when going for the 2 in a row but look really tuned in to do the 2 in a row this year.Ulster was a doddle for them despite being on the hard side of the draw. Its hard to judge Kildare's true worth in that they have yet to beat a real top quality team in the championship but their performance level is consistent and if they can find another bit and Tyrone have an off day the championship could be thrown wide open.
