parkinson- ''claremorris may be yhe u16 champs but i still believe ballina had a more talented squad and had they performed to their full capabilities on the day would have won! but fare play to claremorris''

...And maybe if Claremorris performed to their full capabilities they'd have won by more! Claremorris won the u-16 Championship this year without ever hitting top gear.fact.

Ballina weren't let to play on the day. They walked over every team this year by 10-15 points and more, and expected to do the same to Claremorris in the final... Ballina didn't know what to do when Claremorris stood up to them.. They pressed the panic button, which must have been faulty!
Credit to an excellent Ballina, who I'm sure will get their revenge within the next 2 years minor!

I don't think Ballina expected a walkover. They knew Claremorris were at full force. Ballina were without their fullback, who was a dominating force throughout the season and was sorely missed in the final. Claremorris won by a point which really dictates a game that could have swung either way. As for Ballina having had an easy run to the final, I think within this Crossmolina, Knockmore, Westport and Swinford are all being underestimated. They all fielded decent teams, and remember, some also beat Claremorris.
