354647 do you recall that duffy 89,in case you forgot, wexford players voted against john meyler last year, and he left!!anyway the next time a yellow belly will be seen with liam mc is on crimestoppers,

Incase you forgot,it was only about four of the Wexford hurlers who voted John Meyler out of his post as Wexford manager & I also didnt see all 30 0f that panel on the TV going on how John Meyler was a bad manager or anything,or I didnt see any of the supporters marching up the Main Street of Wexford town in support of them players,Cork hurling at the moment is a shambles,as much as Wexford has its problems we didnt blame this man or the other man no we just left it to its own devices, unlike you's lot down there

Spot on Culchie. To be honest by and large I'm trying to ignore this thread. We lost a match so what. We shook hands and took it on the chin and moved on like we always do. In every year only one team can win the Liam McCarthy so supporters of 5 of the remaining 6 teams will also have to handle defeat. That is the nature of sport, the guy who started this thread is a WUM he just wanted to stir things. Let him and any guys who want to join him say what they like if you ignore these people they usually go away.

Well back from my hols and glad to see that cork were knocked out (would have prefered to see tipp do it but then if we did they'd be in the all-ireland and they'd claim a moral victory) but bad game by all accounts.

To be honest a lot of the cork posters are talking crap here saying we'er jealouse of them. I've always had respect for cork and all they've achived but as a Gaa die hard i do not respect what the current panel of players have done and unless they come out and say what they did was wrong as it's achieved nothing they'll have no respect in Gaa circles.

Corkonians boasted about having 4-5000 marching in support of the hurlers why was there such a small crowd supporting them in the championship tiny crowd at the game right?? The cork team dosn't have the support of a lot of the cork public over all that's gone on and cork people have told me that.

Ye had a strike got a new manager played the practically the same team same tactics and didn't get as far in the championship and the same CCB is in place where's the progress there.... Justice has been served

defeatest - pop of kilkenny = 75,000, cats minor captain of 08 = thomas breen from st martins/ muckalee club. so start your strike early this time and you'll have it sorted by spring next year, cats 31 and counting , not too bad for a "wee county".

As a Corkman living in Galway it was amazing the difference in the national portrayal of the strike by the media as opposed to what I'd see when I went home. All of the posters and writers making comments in the national media were not even from Cork. Despite the bitterness within Cork the impression I got was that most people were in favour of a change (not by a huge majority, maybe only 55%-45%, possibly closer). However to go by national reporting it sounded very much like the players had no support at all so there was definately a bias there. Change needs to happen from the top down, that goes for the secretary, GMC who was manager is gone, and some players probably should take a look at themselves now and ask themselves are they hungry enough for it anymore, because after that much time playing at that level its bound to take its toll. Kerry footballers are suffering a bit as well, a lot of long campaigns are bound to take the edge off players. Kilkennys day will come as well and at the moment Tipp are best placed due to a good underage structure. Galway or Dublin aren't far behind but Cork have a lot of ground to make up and it won't happen overnight. The Cork players being slated have been great servants but maybe their time has come for a lot of them. If Galway or Tipp make the breakthrough this year they could have a good run of it as well! One good thing with Cork being out is I can relax a bit and enjoy the championship a bit more!!! ;-)

cailin knowing patrique he was speaking tongue in cheek.

Certainly not. I supported the players throughtout the "strike" as it was all caused, deliberately, by Frank Murphy.

for the record I didnt support the 4 players in what they done as I seen John Meyler as being a sort of revolutionary manager of hurling, and also for the record 75% of this board didnt support the Cork hurlers so ye might aswell give up on this subject and watch yir counties footballers, they won the Munster championship did you know that ?

For the uninitiated... Wum is the capital of Menchum division in the Northwest Province of Cameroon. It has a population of about 78,000, so would be very unlikely to be a dual county, unless there's Biffo blood out there...
