Setanta Gone... how do I watch abroad?

(Oldest Posts First)

Hi - anyone know now Setanta is gone how do we get to watch the games abroad. I have tried the P2P website someone posted before but it is very hit and miss.
In London will the Irish pubs have it if Setanta not available?
Your Help appreciated as want to see games this weekend

Setanta is only gone in the UK.Setanta still has 33 prem games next season in Rep Ireland.
I don't think they'll have it abroad though

You can watch them online with Setanta on a pay-per-view basis. Follow this link from the gaa website:

http://www.gaa.ie/plugins/matchfeed.cgi?rm=content&plugin_data_id=27112

Shame about the $10 per game price though....

My friends in Midlands in UK have found pubs a small number of pubs who have RTE...How they do this i don't know but i do know you can can put an Irish sky card into a box in England & get RTE. I guess as long as payments in Ire still being paid

You'd need someone who knows London GAA scene to help you RE London..............Maybe the UK forum on this site ???? Good luck

I'd say the Irish pubs around would be able to help you out.

I think you can fool rte by changing the computers country in the control panel to Ireland. Also try justin.tv ???

tyronemanc..............Yes, this is available on BBC2 NI in England via sky.......definitely....ive watched Ulster champ games there on bb2 Ni..chanel 962 or 963 ( i think?? )

Enthusiast.....I dont think you can fool RTE..They can locate which ISP you using ( one in Ireland) , not what your PC settings are...

Just be subtle. If your are wearing sun glasses it will make it easier. Otherwise just make sure not to get caught; if you do then tell her you were looking at the girl behind her and not to be so big headed.

I was in Portugal recently, and every Irish bar in the town was able to show the GAA games. I think they had SKY and they were able to get RTE on it.

Keep looking through the p2p sites. There is one that has every GAA match broadcast in 2009.

Disappointed that the GAA/RTE/whoever have been very slow in making GAA matches available overseas.

I have a friend living in london and he was saying some pub in East Finchliy, Bertie Brown's or something like that, shows all the games on RTE live.

The GAA haven't been slow, as I showed in my earlier post. Every live game is available via the Setanta website. Only drawback is the $10/£6 cost, but they are all available online if you want them.

All Irish and English pubs abroad pay for Sky in Ireland and England and take the viewing card and sky box abroad. This how Irish pubs show the GAA in London and English pubs in Spain have muppets packed in watching Big Brother. The giveaway is the red dot on the bottem right of the screen. That means someone is paying for it but as a domestic customer and not a business.
Tried RTE I-Player last sunday and for the 1st time ever could watch Tipp v Watfd live even though my IP address is obviously English.
GAA fans over here are fed up with the fact we cant watch anything live except the "championship" on six counties BBC via Sky on channel 973.
There is a market for showing the matches even if it meant Pay per view. £15 a month is cheap compared to £30 a time down the pub.
