That I've seen, since about 86 or so:

Peter Canavan
Mauice Fitz
Anthony Tohill
Brian Dooher
Colm Cooper

As for the rst that I haven't seen going on hear say I should stree it would be like this

Frank McGuigan
Mick O'Connell
Mikey Sheedy
Matt Conor
Pat Spillane

Although when Mick O'Dwyer was asked who was the best footballer he ever seen he said that the most effective footballer he ever seen was the Bomber Liston

No order for either list by the way!

Of this era i would say the best footballer has to be moynihan. He could get an all-star in any position. M Fitz is for his unique skills. However he is also an excellent athlete with a good work rate. Next, padraig joyce, another very complete player who can tackle as well as he can shoot/pass. Next Darragh O'Shea, exceptional fielder, can carry the ball, shoot and defend. Never gives away cheap ball and has exceptional power. And last McGeeney, great all rounder and one of the toughest players ever.

After that you have darren fay, steven o'neill, sean cavanagh, k mcdonald, paddy bradley, g canty, s. mcdonnell, c gormley, m donellan, s og de paor etc

I leave out the likes of gooch and canavan because they are small and neither would be excellent when not in posession, in my view to be the best you should be good at all aspects of the game

Just looking through a few posts their didn't notice anyone from outside Ulster say Anthony Tohill, are we Ulster people over hyping him or did you just not get to see enough of him?I had the joy of watching him a number of times and he was the complete midfielder, strong as a horse, great fielding, could pick up the ball in any position and run with it and get scores.Destroyed us numerous times.

My top 5 from the last 30 years in no particular order: Matt Connor, Mikey Sheehy, Jack O'Shea, Anthony Tohill, Frank McGuigan. There are many other great players listed on this forum who deserve consideration but Barney Rock is definitely NOT one of them.
