Am I right in saying that Kevin Moran didn't actually get a FA cup medal as he was sent of in the final???? or did he still get one???

Derry_led. Kevin won an FA cup medal with Man Utd in 1983 and another in 1985. He became the first player to be sent off in a wembley final in '85 when he was sent off for a foul on Everton's Peter Reid but still got his winners medal. He is the owner of 2 all-Ireland medals ('76 & '77) and 2 FA cup winners medals ('83 & '85)

As far as I know Kevin Moran got his medal alright - he just wasn't allowed go up to collect it on the day cos he was bold!

dont think you're right on that one dubupnorth. Nearly sure he didnt get a medal in 85 coz i remember hearing about paul mcgrath offering him his medal as it was his poor pass that caused moran to lunge in and get himself sent off. Or did he eventually get a medal? I could be wrong....................

redandgreen....as far as I know , Kevin didn't get his medal on the day but due to the public pressure on the FA and the perception that he was harshly dealt with , he was given his winners medal shortly after the final.

I thought Teddy too - when you say knocked out the defending champs can that include beating them in the Final? If this is the case it must be Offaly's Liam Currams - football winner in 82 when they beat defending champions Kerry in the final and then hurling winner in 85 when they beating defending champs Cork in the semi. Right?

Was it someone from offaly in 2000 cos the footballers beat Meath and the hurlers beat Cork, I havnt a clue who it is though.

totally guessing was it an offaly man in 2000. not sure who beat meath this year but i know they did not win leinster and offaly beat cork in the hurling
