Ah yes Mr Nasty - a good puzzler regarding triumphs by the fairer gender which may instigate some botheration here. The answer is not in the singular as a number of our X chromosome practitioners have savoured greater success than their Y chromosome counterparts. Our fair colleagues in the Deise have 5 All Ireland titles while the Hominidae have a single one. The Fosbury County ladies have a quartet while the Home Sapiens have but 3; while the Laois nor Monaghan males have never annexed a senior All Ireland football title, the comely maidens of both counties have done so once and twice respectively. Alas the Lovely Ladies of Leitrim - like their menfolk - have yet to drink from the Brendan Martin Cup but did taste ultimate glory in last year's Internediate Championship.

The homecoming was memorable as the bonfires provided a veritable conflagration of incandescent light and heat across the rolling hills of Leitrim.

The Kerry ladies have won nine senior All-Irelands in a row while the men have only ever won a measly four in a row on two occasions, great girls!

whiterbananas , Davie's reply might not be as witty or intelligent as you'd like but the fact is Dublin have won more all-Irelands than Mayo in the last 25 years , and indeed overallThat we have the largest population in the country means nothing. How many soccer world cups have China, India or Russia won when you account for their huge populations? Same rationale.

And 7 more than Mayo in the last 50 years! That is 7 vs ZERO of course....

BTW: Prob an easy one but ill throw it out anyway, "Who contested the only All Ireland football final to be played outside of Ireland, and what year was it, and who won it?"

Waterford have won 5 All Ireland Ladies Football titles (Senior), but have never won the Sam Maguire. Their County Board and Hurling Management are doing their best to make sure they never will by declaring 2 footballers "unavailable" for the footballers for the Championship game against Clare next Sunday.
