Whelan and O'Se would be the dream pairing for me...

Cavanagh is a great footballer but he is not a top midfielder.

Charlie, Kerry - no need to take the mick now! We're well aware we have no midfield.

Can't believe that no one has mentioned shane Ryan, he carried dublin and whelan recently

Come on now Con, you can't say that about Whelan, he is a God among men, he is Dublin! According to most Dubs he is the second messiah!! I think that Whelan although in earlier year was good, is seriously overrated especially by Dubs.

Au contraire Niamh - I think he has been much more consistent and influential in the last three seasons than he was before that.

Niamh & Dub in Meath. I think on his day Whelan is awesome. (eg first Tyrone game in '05) He has become a better player since the partnership with Shane commenced. Ciaran is a great fielder and makes lung bursting runs and scores the occasional spectacular goal. But Shane does the donkey work. Often un noticed and un spectacular.

I agree with that to a certain extent - but I reckon Shane's worth is well recognised and known to real Dublin fans. If I had one slight criticism of Shane it would be his reluctance to go for a score himself. If he swung a foot the odd time after some of his lung bursting runs you could be looking at some of the finest scores seen in Croke Park.

Seeing it hasn't been mentioned before I'm going to say Foster and Allen.

O'Se and Cavanagh a little above the rest over the last few years. This year will probably see others cometo the fore.
BTW - Don't understand people saying that Cavanagh is not a true midfielder - he plays in the middle of the field and is very effective. Now what do you call that again? Oh yeah, a midfielder.

Us Farneymen would rate Eoin Lennon up there with any of todays top midfielders. On his day can dominate the middle third in the air and open play. Injured towards end of the league which restricted his performances a bit. Hopefully the rest of you will know what I'm talking about by the end of Sunday's game in Brewster Park.
