Think you're wrong there about 08. I think most people would say it was a cracking game from both sides. If you think we were just passing the ball backwards you'ld be disagreeing with what most posters condemmed us for, which was sending the ball in too high and too quick. I'd agree with them about that. As for 05, I have no problem saying we were rubbish and were overwhelmed.
I was just saying that I hope the Monaghan Derry match would not be on TV because based on the evidence so far this year it will not be entertaining. Kerry did score 3 points before the 41st minute from play and ONE after that like you said. That is 4 in the second half. And I'm still willing to admit that it was unacceptable from us eventhough most people would have rated the two games against Cork as 2 of the top 3 or 4 so far this year.
I want Monaghgan to play well and do well. I just cant understand why monaghan supporters arent cracking up with management not allowing the players to play. Particularly as Mcenaney came on lauding his fantastic forwards after the match. Let them play is what I say. You must admit it has not been great stuff so far to watch. Same as I will admit when Kerry have underperformed. Come on like, 1 point from play between 2 teams in a whole half. That did not happen in Pairc Ui Chaoimh or Fitzgerald as bad as we were.
Reading back on my two posts I don't think was any untruth to what I'm saying. Maybe I shouldnt have mentioned the competitivness of Irish Dancing moms (hee hee) but this whole 'competition' thing being the be all and end all of Gaelic Football gets me down. I just want to see talent on display. Not tactics. Maybe I'm Naive, but I'm sticking to the guns.
Been to countless Ulster grudge matches involving various counties. Poor matches, most matches, it's down to meeting each other too much. Claustrophia.
I'd prefer if there was no TV coverage. Just let the two teams get on with it, full squads to pick from, drop all bans, and sort it out among ourselves. And if RTE could organise not to have a kangaroo court from a TV panel, with their own agendas, dead on.
You'll see quality from whoever gets past next Saturday.
