Great draw , time to settle a score. In clones as well. Derry corner back suspended so he a loss. Monaghan will be motivated and lets not forget we beat derry last year without finlay.. Bring it on i say..

tough draw for us monaghan folk yet again, even though we played badly last night and won i think it will give us great courgae going into next weekend's match against derry, especially our improvement in midfield. Nothing from Derry's performance against tyrone would cause any monaghan player to lose sleep even with doherty back, he only increases their physicality and not creativity of which they severly lack (though if enda muldon is back this could change). It's gonna be a ding dong battle again, close game and could go to extra time, Joe Brolly's antics should give us motivation and after the bias treatment of tommy at appeals when doc and mullan were taking into consideration, can't wait till next saturday, hoping we win...

100% sure Mc Guckin will be reinstated, sure Sean Cavanagh even wrote a letter to the CCC staying Mc Guckin didn't shoulder him.

People are aware that if it is on TV you don't have to watch it. And as for Leinster football being ahead of Ulster football, that is hilarious. Tyrone would comprehensively beat the best of Leinster on their own

It is liable to be pretty grim and most pundits and punters expect the same..
BUT......................................
I expect a very big crowd to attend and TV3 to have huge viewing figures.....

People are hypocrites first and foremost

Hopefully will get a good game now. Show that Ulster football can be just as good as the rest.

I don't think this game will be the first choice for either TV station. Longford v Kerry and Westmeath v Meath would be the favourites to be televised. And to answer Juan Vernon's original question; there will be no football played next week - your bog standard Ulster Championship match. Everyone is going on about the ref for next week but the first thing that is needed is proactive umpires who clamp down on the thuggery from the first minute as most of it happens when the ball is at the other end of the pitch. Last night there were 2 balls on the pitch before a Monaghan kickout and the umpire didn't have the gumption to walk the 10 yards to move it. If ever a game needed hand picked umpires who are existing officials and not the mates of the ref its this one. Also the ref has to be from outside Ulster. Lastly, someone posted about the impening return of Enda Muldoon. Derry people should forget about this. Charlie Vernon was nowhere last night because you can't come back into a game of that intensity after a few trainig sessons and a challenge game. Enda Muldoon is a superb footballer but next weeks game will pass him by through no fault of his own. One final thought; will be lads bring the "Umbrella" banner again next week?????

I think we'll actually see a good game break out! Here's hoping anyway! We will need to play more positive up front than we did last night, only 2 forwards showed up for us really, we'll need the lot of them for this one.

as i said earlier pomeroyplunkett if you take tyrone out of ulster its a pretty sorry affair..results in the last year have proved that leinster is a better championship with better teams.as for your breath takingly arrogant suggestion than tyrone would beat a leinster selection i respectfully suggest you go and take your tablets.tyrone may well be the best team in the land at the moment but you only have to cast your mind back to 2007 when they were beaten by..wait for it..meath who are from leinster.westmeath ran you close last year as well...don't be so arrogant

Tyrone apart the standard of Ulster football within the province isn't very good at the minute. It was far better in the early 90's when we had 3 All Ireland winners. I hope I am proved wrong but I believe the poor state of the others is also one of the reason's Antrim have come to the fore. What's happened to the likes of Down with such a great tradition and why have Derry & Armagh fallen away badly? Tyrone are a great side and don't get the praise they deserve by many outside the province who stereotype ALL Ulster sides as all brawn and no skill. However this shouldn't disguise the fact that football in other eras could be rotten as well and that tends to be ignored in the race to attack Ulster.

The Face,
I reckon the 'umbrella' banner will have to get another outing. It was tidy work. There might even be another few along with it. Banty will probably be selling them. I wonder will Brolly be pundit if it is on tele. I think it would be foolish of rte not to have him. He's good for the banter
