I fully agree with the last poster.. The boss on a canning hurl is the sweetest I've ever seen.. You get a serious distance when pucking the ball with the centre of the aforementioned sweet boss.. My favourite thing about the new hurl is that it has no tin so you don't need to be lookin around the shed for them tiny nails when she comes loose or worse again have to ask the corner back from Turlough for a loan of his hurl when the ball is down the other end of the field so you can tap in the loose nails.. I also like the good solid butt end of the canning hurl for stobbin lads with when you want to show them you mean business.. WolfeTone (Galway) - Posts: 123 - 01/12/2011 14:14:59 1078471 Link 0 |

Snufalufagus.. nothing wrong with stobbin a lad with the butt of the hurl to show whos boss. ive heard of lads that have angle grinded the boss of the hurl to make it sharper. now thats uncalled for. mangledbadger (Galway) - Posts: 34 - 02/12/2011 16:48:54 1079166 Link 0 |

Torpey hurleys are very good. You can choose either big bas or small bas. Always has great fresh timber and makes loads of business which is a good sign. gaillimh10 (Galway) - Posts: 17 - 15/01/2012 18:19:09 1093967 Link 0 |

Brian Rabbitte from Clarinbridge makes a lovely hurl with serious grain. He has a facebook page called Rabbitte Hurls and has a few pictures up of hurls he made and hurls he fixed. Does any style hurl including Torpey, Canning, O Dea, etc. Has his own nice original style too. Great fixer of a hurl aswell. juniorchurling (Galway) - Posts: 25 - 22/10/2013 18:17:13 1504558 Link 0 |
