Whatever he has against Kerry is nothing compared to the insults he fired at Monaghan & Dick Cler kin this year!..... Every County should be able take warranted critisim.... & my own county(Monaghan) certainly deserved some this year, .... and got it from several pundits, O'Rourke, Spillane & McHugh, to name afew!..... But Mr.Brolly's outburst, well that's a different matter!...... Perhaps the "Celebrity Barrister" feels he is of a wisdom superior to the "ordinary Joe Soaps" ( as Pat Spillane might say) who tune into RTE!

Sure Brolly is the only man in Ireland who actually knows how to take a goal scoring chance properly. He was a legend scoring them in his time. Here is what I would say from a neutral point of view. Brolly does indeed love Tyrone or maybe he uses Tyrone to keep up the argument that Ulster football is the best. Spillane hates Northern football so I thin Brolly and Spillane are playing off each other. Saying that Spillane just thinks the football is crap now compared to the Kerry teams of old. But ya know something that's probably the only true words that have been spoken from the two of them. Liam you must be a young fella because this Tyrone team are probably the best in the past twenty years (not by much mind you, Kerry at the moment have a better record that the current Tyrone team and so could deservedly take that claim), however they don't even come near some of the Kerry teams that have gone by (I know I remember them). Sorry lads but Jack O'Shea and the boys were a great footballing side. Would they beat the current Tyrone side? We will never know but records are there to say they were the best team in their time and any time. Take note: 78-81 84-86 How can you even compare my friend.

Why are so many people up in arms over Brolly? Look he won one All Ireland and not much more success so he has to tailgate onto Tyrone while they are a leading team. Just ignore him and he might go away.

Yesterday evening, Des Cahill anounced two or three times during his RTE Radio show at 6:30 that they were doing a preview of the Munster senior football final. They finally got around to it a few minutes before the end of the programme and Joe Brolly came on to spend most of the time talking about Antrim. When he eventually came around to mentioning Limerick, he said that the only question was whether Cork either beat or walloped Limerick.

Fine, a guy is entitled to his opinion. However, when he's getting a big wad of license-payers' money, you'd be entitled to expect that he might actually get off his backside and find out something about the teams involved instead of spewing out a few gratuitous cliches.

I would just point out to the Kerrymen that their brother in arms Paudi O`Se does not have much good to say about Armagh and Tyrone in his newspaper articles.

Ha the team of the decade debate again. Was it decided in the end if 2000 was this decade or last?

Joe Brolly in the great scheme of things was an insignificant footballer. He won an all-ireland in a team that never dominated nationally for any period worth talking about, he was never considered the top forward in the country and was, if we are honest, an average player. However his ego was always above this so he needs to come out with the rubbish he does to stay in the spotlight. It's not as if his analysis is accurate or insightful. The problem for him is that he is becoming a bit of a ruuning joke and his credibility is almost at rock bottom. Time is running out for poor joe as an analyst on national tv i fear.

Good point Colinwex.....BROLLY and SPALLAN are playing off each other....i think spillan is living in the old days, "kick and catch" thats all he keeps repeating, kick and catch was back in his day when the players wernt half as fit...brolly knows this as he still played up untill a few years ago...you dont get half as much time so you got to move the ball fast through the field with pin point passes.....He doesnt like ulster every one knows that, and brolly doesnt like him, but i have to say it makes great tv....Would you not all agree...?

With Pat Spillane back on the right side of the Sunday game cameras .He has so far wiped the floor with brolly making him look foolish at times.
Really dont know why rte have him on.His input is rubbish and runs down the so called weaker counties all the time.

Glad Tv3 have the munster Final on Sunday even though i wont see it on tv.Imagine all the smart remarks he would be making about limerick if he was a pundit watching the game.

joe brolly is so anti kerry because RTE just have him on to rise pat spillane.I think Brolly rates no other teams apart from the 1's up north.

well i see brolly has managed to upset our southern brothers again...he was right about o'sullivan and our kerry lads on here should realise there are more than 2 ways to skin a cat...to beat a blanket defence you need to move good 40-50 yard direct passes to mobile forwards. soloing with the ball enables defenders to funnell back and lumping the ball gives the defence a chance of gobbling up the ball a la the mcmahons in september....and why shouldn't he praise tyrone?...didnt spillane even say a few weeks ago that they were a great team...lets face it lads tyrone are a great team and you need to accept it..and the dubs, cork galway, kerry are mere pretenders to the crown!!!

Bravo Joe, you tell the truth and give the Dublin pundits and many Southern Gaels a dose of their own medicine. You are a legal advocate and point out their hypocrisy and lack of knowledge of the laws & rules of the game and disciplinary procedures. They also just can't stomach the 'puke Nordies' winning SAM & NOT lying down to Kerry & Dublin and it annoys them BIG time. I know as I have in laws there and they hate the Northern tribes taking their mantle. I watched the Antrim/Cavan match in the company of Dubs and they were ALL shouting for Cavan over 'de Nordies'. This Kerry side are very ordinary and Joe, as well as Liam Hayes, tell it as it is and reiterate that Tyrone ARE the team of the decade. Kerry AND the Dublin media CANNOT stomach that but I luv it I just luv it as it winds them up no end. KEEP IT UP JOE.

Mayotyroneman, it's the first time in a long time I've seen the public put so much foolish money on a team in any sport that are "only" pretenders. The whole country obvioulsy bows to your superior knowledge of our national sport. Maybe the fact that we won 2 of the last 3, 3 of the last 5 and 4 of the last 9 earns us the right to be pretenders in your blissfully unaware eyes. What would we have to have achieved to be serious challengers. Of course that's not even mentioning contending all of the last 5 finals and 9 of last 9 semifinals. Not to mention the 18 final appearances in the last 34 finals along with 12 wins in the same period.

Me, I think we should not be favourites this year, but the pretender tag I would donate to other more recent winners who have a long way to go before proving that the tradition of winning all irelands is something they can uphaold for longer than a quarter of a generation. We will gladly pass the crown on in 14 years time if Dublin win the next 15 titles. As for others, leave the pretender comments at home with the waterpistols.

Ulsterman what's all this "love how it winds them up" rubbish? You must think all us "southern gaels" worry about nothing else but Ulster teams. Believe me, as a kerryman, i worry about tyrone mayo galway cork dublin and perhaps kildare with regards this years championship. Yes that's right- only one ulster team. We have enough worthy opponents closer to home to bother getting too wound up about a fotballing province in total freefall!

I'll leave the getting wound up to you!
