u boys have picked the story up rong. at the start of the year mickey harte decided that the whole team should learn the national anthem so that before every match all the players could belt it out. it was sort of a team bonding thing. theres a good video of them all dancing round the sam maguire in the changing room after the match singing it...so thats what happened, obviously they werent going to sit and try and learn it the night before the allireland u WUMs.

I don't know it, i don't care about it, i will never know it.

Reason for this being that i hate the irish language because i wanted to learn spanish in school but unfortunetly i wasn't great at languages and so had to drop spanish to focus in on Aon focal eile, completely ridiculous state of affairs if you ask me, the bloody thing shouldn't be compulsory in schools.

Know it in Irish but not in English. Think I might have thought myself it, but can't remember I know it that long. Don't see why you'd need to know it in English? I know it was written in English but sure you might as well learn it in French or Cantonese or whatever if thats the case.

I'm not that bothered with people cheering before the end. As far as I'm aware, that always happens be it GAA, soccer or rugby. Don't understand why people say its only a GAA thing.

I meant everthing that i said, so theres no need for people with bigoted attitudes to come on here and tell me that im wrong or that im an idiot or that i should be ashamed of myself because im none of those things. I don't like amhran na bhfiann for the reasons ive previously stated and i also don't like it because id much prefer an anthem which adequately represents everybody on this Island, amhran na bhfiann only represents catholics regardless of what anybody says and i hate needless division.

Ps if you don't have a credible argument against me then please refrain from attacking my grammar and/or spelling because it just highlights how inept you are at expressing a valid point of view when you have to focus in on how im saying things as opposed to what im saying.

I unfortunately am one of those who would love to be able to sing the National anthem in any language. Ufortunately in the words of an my old Music teacher " you couldnt carry a note in a bucket" And then being thrown out of the Choir with the parting words "never ever be heard singing in public again" Well i never felt the need to learn the words of any song as i would never sing anywhere. However i have more than a passing knowledge of the words in English and Irish but would not bring discredit on our great anthem by trying to sing it. But I do Love to hear others sing it among the crowd and I would urge all who can to please belt it out at the top of your voice. As far as cheering before it is over i dont mind it seems only right that the Anthem should fade into the battle crys of the opposing forces.

EVERYONE can sing. Some have better voices that others. Dylan, Cohen, Sinatra and many others didn't have good voices but could sing.

If you want to hear top class singers go to the ####### opera.

In short Derry lad, sing up with the rest of us.
