How can Limerick possibly be ahead of Cork? I presume this is your attempt at humour.

A little bit of humour ok wack but the point I was trying to make is that Limerick were the better team today and deserved to beat Cork. So if you were ranking them as of now they should be ahead. I do feel that Cork have a better chance of winning Sam and in many respects the close shave they got today could be a blessing in disguise. There is no doubt if they had won at a canter today they would have come unstuck in Croker.

It's true to say that a team which could deservedly win a provincial title mightn't be in any position to win the All-Ireland. One reason for keeping the provincial setup, it gives teams outside of the top 3/4/5 something to realistically aim for

Kilkenny first in hurling and last in football......... apart from that it is all very much down to personal opinion.

Can't deny that, Big Sacks. It's nearly a commandment at this stage

This is on current form

1) Tyrone: If they play to full potential, nobody can beat them. they are one of the greatest teams I've ever seen.

2) Cork: Rubbish against Limerick today. Flatfooted, but when they turn it on, they are a terrifying force. Gould and OConner are brilliant. Pearse ONeill is the perfect modern half forward. Could be accused of having a soft centre when a team really goes at them. Even last year's Kildare team gave them a fright in the second half. they always hate playing Limerick.

3) Dublin: When the hill gets behind them, they can be awesome. Bernard Brogan is the best forward in the country at the moment. But the backline is still weak (Denis Bastick at fullback smacks of desperation) and they will be severely tested against Kildare next week.

4) Kerry: Gooch, Donaghy, Marc O Sé, exceptional footballers all over the field. But Midfield is weak.

5) Kildare: Might sound weird but McGeeney has taken advantage of the fact that there are no exceptional footballers on the team. But they have only had success against Offally and wexfor and Laois thus far. And if Dermot Early gets injured they are in sever trouble in the midfield.

6) Mayo: brilliant footballers, but will always se;f destruct on the big day. Bit light psychologically. Would love to see them win an all-ireland though.

7)Galway: You saw them against Sligo the last day. Great forward line, but cant addapt to the modern game at all. No all ireland in this lot this year anyway.

Kerry and Tyrone have been the only 2 teams in the country for so long now. If they meet in the final Tyrone will win again. If Kerry meets anyone else they will win.
If Tyrone meet Cork or Mayo it could go either way. Dublin are as yet an unknown force this year whilst Monaghan might just surprise everyone and go all the way.
Problem with trying to predict now is that Kerry/Tyrone haven't even started to peak yet. Got to say that best footballer in the country for the last 6 yrs has got to be Brian Dooher and if he stays injury free hard to look past Tyrone.

1 Kerry: Haven proven ability. Wouldn't take anything out of the cork match. As Cork proved yesterday they are capable of a bad match. Unfortunately Kerry thrive when they get to Croke Park

2 Tyrone. Taken apart easily enough in the league by Kerry

3 Mayo: Have the capability to get a day in September, but I still feel they lack the mental strength to kill off the big guns.

4 Dublin: Hit and miss. Will depend on what Dublin team show up.

5 Cork: 8 scores from division 4 opposition leaves a lot of questions

6 Galway: If they could sort out their midfield they could be brilliant.

I'm sure time will tell. I didn't think Mayo were all that much last year and they came very close to beating Tyrone. I haven't seen any improvement from Tyrone, and any evidence as to why Kerry, Mayo, Dublin, or Cork wouldn't be in with a chance or showing Tyrone the exit.

I would never judge Tyrone on their league status, because they always have a key players missing.
I am not trying to blow up my county are anything but the are undoubtly the best team in the country. The reason why the havent retained the sam more times in the past decade was simply because of injruy.

Keane16 I dont know what Cork side youve been watchin if ye think their style is similar to Tyrone`s. Sure Cork are fast and athletic but Tyrone are unique. They defend and attack with both subtlety and ferocity. They are currently the most peerless football team in Ireland. Cork have a long way to go boy ,and I wish them all the best. It would be great if they could usurp Kerry`s mantle and become Tyrone`s new main annual threat. And also I think someone referred to Mayo not being far off Tyrone with reference to last years one point game. Thats absurd. Tyrone were comfortable that day and just got a bit nervy near the end when they allowed Mayo to come back a little , which was uncharacteristic of this Tyrone side. For me they always looked like they had too much for Mayo. Having said that , Tyrone apart I think Mayo are an extremely good side.

They may be able to show tyrone the exit but if you think that dublin, mayo or cork could put tyrone through the exit, you are seriously delusional. i think the only team that could beat tyrone this year are kerry and we all know how hard they find it.
