glenties beat Dungloe handy in third game. Naomh mhuire through to the final beating Nauls 3-11 to 3-10. Sounds like a cracker, anyone know anything about it. Glenties to take bundoran next week? hungrybob (Donegal) - Posts: 88 - 21/08/2009 00:19:18 398821 Link 0 |

donegal.gaa - I wasn't at the match but a nine point gap looks like a fair handy score difference. Glenties should have enough for Bundoran too. hungrybob (Donegal) - Posts: 88 - 23/08/2009 15:24:09 400549 Link 0 |

Naomh Mhuire are not playing in the semi-final. I dis-agree that Glenties will find Bundoran easy meat. They had a school debs this weekend which won't help them given their reputation for partying and will not be as fit, or as determined perhaps, as Glenties but they have some very good footballers. As for the final, Naomh Mhuire are a coming team with Grant and Hardon under-age next year. They may win the Regional if they gat a good run of the ball - young Boyle is also very dangerous -but the odds favour the winners of Glenties/Bundoran. Sorry donegalforsam -just realised you were on about an earlier post from horse not the latest one from hungrybob. You are right in that Naomh Muire have the best chance f al three as they are in the final ChurchRdBun (Donegal) - Posts: 14 - 23/08/2009 18:14:07 400740 Link 0 |

they defiantly deserved the victory after a poor first half performance and are now looking good for the southern championship, but i wouldn't rule out naomh mhuire yet The_todd (Donegal) - Posts: 31 - 27/08/2009 16:34:56 406589 Link 0 |

Eunans were very lucky last night.I realise they were missing players, But Cloughaneely could have beat them without 4 of their top 8 players. Expected much more from Eunans Rf (Donegal) - Posts: 291 - 01/09/2009 21:54:02 412405 Link 0 |
jimmygee - Bundoran were robbed. They led by ten points at half-time alright and were still cruising going into the last five minutes despite some odd refing decisions. Glenties were hardly magnificent if they were still seven behind that close to the end after Bundoran hit the the bar twice. The extremely dubious Glenties penalty with five minutes left gave them the momentum to come back. Firstly it was not a footblock. Not only was it blocked by the keeper's knees, the keeper was still standing with both feet on the ground. Secondly, even when keepers do block with there feet penalties seem to be rarely given - there were three instances of such blocks between the two All-Ireland semi-finals on SUnday and not a mention of a penalty. In extra time Glenties were the better team but mainly because Bundoran were just not fit enough. hungrybob (Donegal) - Posts: 88 - 01/09/2009 23:06:50 412503 Link 0 |
Rf Lucky or not they win and what exactly are you trying to say here Eunans were missing top players also I heard your comments here sound a bit like sour grapes to me good luck to both teams in the Co.Semi's. Pointer (Donegal) - Posts: 1200 - 02/09/2009 00:39:43 412611 Link 0 |
I heard from a member of the st.eunans club saying he was at the game and while both teams were missing at least 3 or 4 starters each he did say it was a very poor game and that the standard was a lot lower than he expected it to be Top_Dog (Donegal) - Posts: 73 - 02/09/2009 16:28:48 413285 Link 0 |
