What are your thoughts on this bill? Long overdue? Or a step too far?

Nice one toma007!

But I believe it deals with an important issue i.e. same sex marraiges. (as well as long-term hetro partners living together)

Yikes did he really say that on a good, clean, wholesome and Irish GAA site??!! :-0

Well that's because same sex marriage is also good, clean, wholesome and Irish.

In NI they are already a step ahead of us on this. We have nothing to fear and should support this as the next change to our constitution as it is argued that same sex marriages could not go ahead without it. Let's make a real change for the better.

For a country that led the way on many things, I imagined this was already law.

It is long overdue, look at where the suppression of sexual topics got the country.

What are the "moral and practical reasons" that you oppose it on?

well i dont thinks its right that a man should be with another man, its not a religious thing because i dont believe in that type of rubbish. The practical reasons i refer to is, if now we are granting civil partnerships between man and man what next? civil partnerships between man and animal? where will it all end.

Paddy I hope for your sake that your last post was posted with the intentions of wining people up. If it was then it's kind of an old trick and not intelligent in any shape or form but if not then you are without salvation and I am not sure what morality you subscribe to but it is not one that displays any respct for your fellow man.
