Shocked at Kildares defeat, thought they would have been there or thereabouts this year.

Niamh, I don't understand your logic at all....even BEFORE the Kildare defeat against Wicklow, how you could rate them and Westmeath so much higher than Laois on the basis that Laois had a bad league and bad championship last year (where we still got to the Leinster Final). Kildare flopped last year in the exact same way as they have this year. And they got absolutely distroyed by Mayo and Derry in the leauge whereas Laois were about level with all their opponents in the top division going into the last 5 minutes or so. Westmeath are a serious threat alright - but they have to beat Dublin before we can play them - it's alright doing that in Navan but it's a very different kettle of fish in front of 82,000 people in Croker where 65,000 are supporting the Dubs. I was delighted to see Meath getting such an easy win against Carlow because the hype about them will be even greater now - and it is hype about nothing. Personally, I think Wexford will beat them in their next game and are a bigger threat to us than meath are...should we beat Wicklow which is by no means a foregone conclusion!

Monaghan over hyped?? what are you on bout Niamh? Who has hyped us????
Like we lost to Westmeath and Cork.
Everbody on this page is hyping up Derry, and for good reason. Strong side!
but the pressure will really be on them to preform and they could very easily be the Donegal of 07.
But i really think Monaghan will be in the thick of it this year!!!
Exciting Ulster championship in prospect!

Ulster;
Monaghan v Tyrone (Revenge for last year!!)

Leinster
Dublin v Laois

Connaught
Galway v Mayo

Munster
Kerry v Cork

Galway v Mayo (Galway)
Cork v Kerry (Cork!)
Dublin v Laois (Dublin)

Donegal v Armagh (DONEGAL)

Part blind optimism, part logic on the Ulster one. I'm supremely confident of beating Derry now though. Can't wait for June 1st!

Kieno said "Laois were about level with all their opponents in the top division going into the last 5 minutes or so." This says all you need to know about Laois. They have some decent players but when the going gets tough they go missing. I can see Wicklow causing another upset. You don't have to worry about Wexford or Meath and you should worry more about getting a favourable draw in the qualifiers.

Ya it just goes to show some people cant see past their own county. Theres a few of us still in with a chance of getting them all right. Personally I think I have an advantage as i'm unbiased, Niamh I think your prediction about Derry will be wide of the mark as well

Hi niamh, what ya reckon bout fermanagh now?? still over hyped?? seems to me you do nothin but repeat the newspaper pundits views and predictions. was at the derry game in donegal on sunday. we wouldnt have feared either of use in the semi. now we have you's we'll punish your sever lack of speed, especially in ur defence.

Predict: Fermanagh 2-11 derry 1-12

red rum dont be sayin that... your scaring me. your strength is your speed and that is our weakness apart from the bradleys. hopefully we just out muscle you. monaghan destroyed us with fast football last year so kinda worried about this one.

well baker, It was clear from having seen derry a few times this yr that sunday wasnt a true reflection.

I realise we are still underdogs and that if both teams play to full potential derry should prevail,

However...if derry dont find top gear, i expect us to punish you

I actually think we will beat Fermanagh, I think Fermanagh needed one big game this year and that was against Monaghan. Derrys fitness was poor on sunday but in the NLF we beat Kerry to near every ball. I still rate Fermanagh don't get me wrong, but I don't rate them as highly as other people do.

Tiobaird, I think my prediction about Derry is spot on, itl be Devvy v Armagh/Tyrone

Can't see Tyrone beating Armagh but would prefer Tyrone in the final...victory will be sweet.

niamh, lets hope for derrys sake then that they realise the national league is about as relevant as john o'shea is to english football!

aka the championship is a completely different ball game. i have heard very few people saying they rate fermanagh this year so i dont know where your getting that. only within our own county have we been quietly confident of a good campaign.

I know this will irritate alot of derry fans but it is becoming clearer that you's are extremely reliant on the bradleys. granted you's have great talent throughout including excellent midfield options. but i think if fermanagh can keep the two boys up front quiet our own forwards (who have been branded below par by many this year) will be feeding various pundits their own words.

think derry badly need lockhart back in defence. mccloy, mciver, mcguckin and even o'kane all looked poor v donegal.

time will tell... looking forward to it though.

18763 Not to sure about the draws but.....
Galway v Mayo
Armagh v Derry
Cork v Kerry
Wexford v Westmeath (dont think Meath have a hope! Obviously it'll be close between Dub and WH)

Think i am the closest with really just waiting on Westmeath and Armagh to do the business. And to be far to me i did change my mind about Derry as you can see from the above comment. Not bad considering a few of ye commented on me not knowing anything about football!!
