There is no crisis in Limerick hurling and the likes of Bookie is only too eager to exacerbate rumour mongering. For instance, I'm sure there would be much negative comment if the hurlers were off their faces like half the football team were last night in Ballybunion, but it seems that we have a county full of knockers who jump onto every rumour that comes out of the hurling camp. Yes Pat Tobin pulled out of the panel (as is his right) but to suggest that there is discord or disharmony in the camp couldn't be further from the truth. There was a guy on the football panel who fought openly at training with Mickey Ned a few weeks back but that's not to say the other players are not committed.
I was in Bruff last week at one of their sessions and I was very impressed with their attitude and application. To call these players "hissey fitters" is a disgrace. With supporters like this, who needs enemies.
Best of luck to our Hurlers on Saturday. Only genuine Limerick Gaels will be present, not the likes of Bookie who booed the team off the field against Offaly last year

Can't be bothered opening a topic for this. Any chance people can type properly and stop using text slang??? You've got about 4000 characters to work with here, not 160(or there-abouts). Not too hard lads.

No Mick Mackey I would never boo any LK team off the pitch as we saw last year against Offaly. I was absolutely disgusted with the behaviour of those hurling fans last year at the GG.

Ya by all accounts there will be big Wex crowd there so prob end up going to see football aswell.Prob waste ot time because I can't see us playing Wex or Rosc later in champ. Any news on the team.. heard yesturday evining on 95fm that it was to be named after training? But knowing Justin we can take his 15 named with a pinch of salt! For those of us staying in Wex sat night don't forget about Munster final traffic on Sun.

Furthermore Mick, you should watch your language accusing people of booing at the Gaelic Grounds. If you cant come on this site and debate because you cant take any criticism than stay away.
Genuine hurling people in Limerick have little reason to be optimistic regarding this next match going on performances over the past 2 months. I've been to most challenge matches, league and of course Championship matches this year. I know what these players are capable of as I'm sure you know yourself aswell.
This match in Wexford is weighing on a prayer, we have no idea what LK team will turn up, we dont even know who is the freetaker!

The name 'Mick' is being throw around alot. Bookie - i see you point and it is logical and valid. Still though a bit of hope never hurt anyone. This team is well capable of beating wexford and if we don't then we don't have any business in the championship. Trust that Justin will get the team right and that they will give us the performance we have been anticipating for a while now. It will just take one win to get the wheels in motion.

Its S.Lucey you left out i presume at 3.Interesting team..We will just have to wait & see now no point in slating the team before they play. All going well that team should be capable of beating Wex.

Just back. Good display by Limerick, felt the ref gave them nothing and was keeping wexford in the game. Foley and Hickey were outstanding. Paudie Mac played great. Conditions were terrible. Got there at 3 to find out that the stand was full so got soaked in the terrace. Well worth in though :-) Well done Lads!!

Like yourself Mick arrived just at 3 as the Stand was closed, got a terrible drenching but getting the win made it all worthwhile. That was a nasty pull on Niall and not even a free,I agree the ref gave everything to Wexford.A workmanlike performance in terrible conditions,we now have Laois which should not be too difficult for us,and then it will be Croke Park.

Excellent lads. I was fortunate enough to get seat in covered stand had to feel for those in the uncovered stand. Also how terrible was that football match to sit through. Extra time was torture!!

Onto the performance it was excellent. Paudie Mac was sensational from start to finish. No pace but his point from the sideline in was one of the scores of the game. Shaughs did well (fitzhenry prob could have done better with the goal). I dont think he is fully back on form yet but he is getting there. Mike O'Brien was very good when he came in and must start for the rest of the season. James Ryan struggled a bit and Niall was missed when he went off but the sub's James O'Brien and Paul Browne played well and worked hard.

Hope DOG is ok looked serious knock he took. Not sure about Gavin O'Mahony but he did grow into the game. The backs played well and nice to see Foley playing some intelligent ball. However our clear man of the match was Seamus Hickey. 2 points (the one in the 2nd half was sensational) and cleared any amount of ball. He will be our centre back for years to come.

Onto Laois next weekend (we should win) and then the All-ireland quarter final. Baile Atha Cliath be warned

Agree with you there 100% SirShaughs (except I'd have given Foley man of the match). Extra times was horrible for ya was it? How do you think me and ONdeDITCH felt in the terrace? :-)

Yea the terraces looked awful. Especially since the wind seemed to be swirling around the ground. Hope your tucked up with the hot water bottle now!!! Not too bothered now about how they perform next weekend just win (by 7/8 points) pick up no more injuries and hope Niall and DOG will be back for the Dubs. My optimism is off the charts right now.

Mark Foley rolled back the years with a vintage display of pure hurling.Head and shoulders above anyone on the field.Hope sir shaughs, south gael et al stop putting the man down from now on and get behind the team WITHOUT blinkers on!

Well done Limerick! Considering that every paper and pundit antisipated a Wexford victory you proved them all wrong. It's great to see that our summer is not over yet for both the Hurlers & Footballers. Just a point of interest and I may be wrong. Was the score in yesterdays match (Wexford 0-14 Limerick 1-13) a reverse of the score from the 96 All Ireland when Wexford beat Limerick ?

first of all i want to say i was wrong, ithought we would be beaten in a close game.our forwards actually did well but wx gave them a lot of space.

i have to comment on the limerick fans ,i left limk at 1pm and got home last night at 11.i was on the open terrace for a couple of hours and was actually soaked through to the bone by full time in the football, the limk crowds stood and sat in the milling rain knowing they had a 3/4 drive home ahead of them.a lot of wx fans mostly women were leaving 10 mins into the second half.in fairness they were probably there for all the football.we had to go to the toilets at half time to get out of it but nobody left.the die hards were there last night and the victory was as welcome as any that i can remember.in over 30 years going to hurling matches that was the worst conditions i ever remember.
