Carlow gael... i hope the rest of Myshall share your confidence?

I do not believe they do, and they are more respectful of the obvious progress made by Erins Own over the past 3 years. All teams respect them now and they are a long way away from intermediate ranks. Did they reach the semi finals before he Naomh Eoin game?

Respect has been the norm from all Myshall hurling supporters for many years and they realise that it is not easy to get to the top. Teams earn respect and Myshall hurlers have no right , to be at the top.No team has. It has to be earned and this Erins Own team has earned respect from fellow competitiors and this includes Myshall.

While i can understand exhuberance based on your last defeat of Erins Own, this should not necessarily translate directly into cockiness. No team in Carlow GAA is entitled to being cocky in the domestic championship. It normally is a recipe for a great fall! A lot of results in last years championship demonstrate this clearly. Ask MLR or Rathvilly!

Carlow Gael you seem to be very confident there by the way your talking....

Im not a bagenalstown man or a myshall man but i hope t god they knock ye outa it, intermediate team and yet they are in the exact same position as you but your team is on its last legs, its a team of the past!! its tha kinda talk tha has carlow the way it is that myshall, mullins, naomh brid and rangers are the only teams in carlow... Fair play to bagenalstown and carlow town for proovin the likes of you wrong!!!

Think Erins Own will sneak it on Sunday,my guess is 2-6 to 1-8.While for the other semi,i know the closest game thRangers had all year was the 5 point victory over the Town, but still they have been hitting the 20 point mark in most there game's.I think MLR to win 0-24 to 1-10,although i would love to see a Town victory.Either way, novel semi final pairings and hopefully two good games.

Carlow Gael what are you on about Naomh Eoin are a team of old men, they have no forwards there even trying dwayne kavanagh full forward even though he is by far a better centre back. Erins Own have been going well in trainin and practice matches the last two weeks. Jayus!!! Erins Own must be a brilliant intermidiate team if you dont rate them in the top 7 in the county and they somehow ended up in the top 4 and in my opinion the top 2. I say your the only man, women and child in Myshall that is cocky over Sunday. I hope Erins Own play better than they did the last day and we will be in for a cracker of a match.

So just for your comments I hope ye get hammered by 14 points. And because I am from Bagenalstown aswel ha ha.

Cluann Eireann 3-12
Naomh Eoin 1-10

Cluann Eireann Abu!!!!!!!!

Think Rangers will win and do so at ease. Hope not but it's likely that it will be a canter. Myshall have to be favourites for second game based on last day, Craig Doyle kept quiet last day, if he gets going it could tip it back to EO. Wouldn be suprised if it was tight tigh with no or only 1 goal and freetakers playing a massive role as both teams fly into each other. Great to see the two town teams in the semis. Can only be good for hurling in county.

I am absolutly delighted for Erins Own. First final since 1970. Drove some terrible wides especially in the first half and should have been more than four points in front. Some very soft goals helped but take the opportunities when they come. Thought Dermot Somers at full back, Brendan Mullins corner back, Jacko at centre back, Eoin 'Minnie' Minchin in midfield and Christy Coady full forward were the best for the town. Shane Kavanagh, Lester and that NO. 20 who came on was very lively I think it was Robbie Foley's brother were the best for myshall. Erins Own didn't leak the goals today which made the difference.

To Carlow Gael where is your 14+ points now I say you wont be on this for a few days and its very hard to win by 14 points when you only score 12.

I still think Rangers will win but the town will put it up to them.

Great week end for MLR. Back in the Senior final for the 5th Year in a row and Intermediate champions too.

Excellent win for Erins Own. Showed good determination through the game and when it mattered, near the end, got the decisive goal. Myshall looked like having the win after a great second half by 'Lester' hitting a lot of ball into the forwards and despite great work by the EO backs got their noses in front, but Coady's late strike was enough to beat NE. A lot of excellent players on both sides but Rogers, Mullins, Doyle in the backs stood out. 'Minnie' in the middle worked hard while Doyle and Coady were the pick up front. Excellent progress shown by the team and their work has now paid off handsomely with their first final appearance in years.

Naomh Eoin worked hard and showed much better appetite and improvement since the start of the year and young Foley looked good when he cam on for Robbie, but the 2 goals won the day, the first one was very special with the rob and flick from Coady being the most memorable.

Well done.

A puzzling second semi final yesterday with MLR looking very good in the first half and yet playing very scrappy stuff in the second. Perhaps after their first half exertions against a poor Carlow Town effort and display, it was hard for them to keep up the momentum but still, Rangers were not nearly as productive or clinical in the second.

Town were very poor and looked as either they were not simply good enough or were overawed by the game and Rangers. Few shone out over the hour for them except B Delaney, Gannon and the 2 English brothers. A lot of minors brought in and blooded. For Rangers the 2 Hickeys and Coady at no 6 stood out while Foley in the goal looked very cool and capable under the few balls that came to trouble him.

While 2-17 is a good score for Rangers, the quality of the opposition needs to be factored in when looking at their score, that performance especially the second will not be good enough Erins Own.

For Town, a long road ahead to reach the level of Rangers and the other 2 semi finalists, based on what was on view yesterday.

First match was very exciting..2 men who would never get a bit of praise deserve huge credit...drmot somers and christy coady take yourselves a huge bow....same thing can be said about MLRS 2 corner backs gary kelly and karl lawlor who have been terrific all year and will never get the credit they deserve because of the positions they play.... Looking forward 2 a cracking final but i dont tink rangers will get caught out 2 years in a row

i think you ve the 2 best and hardworking teams in final. we havent heard of any boost ups, player power, lack of players attending etc that have dogged other clubs from either of these and a settled happy hardworking camp can go along way. both clubs are the model for other clubs to follow next year. hope it a good game and that the winners do well in the leinster championship.

congrats to Erins Own on getting to the senior hurling final - it was great game to watch as a neutral. These lads are well used to winning as they have competed in and won from u12 upwards under the guidance of mick miley and now all their hard work is coming through at senior level. Its not easy to keep lads interested (winning helps!) so fair play to the mentors who have kept the lads together. On the flip side of this is Carlow Town - who funnily enough were always Erins Own competition in finals all through juvenile/minor -but on sunday last only a handful of the lads who played hurling with carlow town were in dr. cullen park- the difference being carlow town did not look after these good young hurlers - such a shame as a wealth of talent has been lost to the game from Carlow town.
I think the hard game erins own had will stand to them in the final compared to the run out MLR had against Carlow Town. Looking forward to a great final whoever wins!

well done to the black and white hooped men fron bagenalstown.. wha a team performance. the work rate on sunday was brilliant. looked like seamus knox had his homework well done on miseal.
dermot somers was very good at full back. brendan mullins for a 37 year old hurled very steady in the corner.peter doyle (who i regard as the most consistent hurler for erins own this year) was his usual best. all over the feild they worked there socks off.
minnie at midfield, young james doyle at half forward , john miley in the corner , jacko at centre back and craig doyle not one known for his work rate worked very hard.
great win and best of luck in the final

well a good year for the town 3 wins more than the managed in about 7 or 8 years put together fair play to Don Walker for giving them a bit of steel. But could have been so much more if there was better preparation from what i hear there wasnt really any training done. ON the day the could have been a lot more competitive . they came out on the field and looked liked the didnt even have a warm up and the first 15 mins they seemed knocked cold the amount of hooks and blocks MLR got i might be right. tactically got it wrong and didnt react to getting overrun in the middle third of the field should have got more bodies in for breaks MLR completely out numbered and out muscled them. i wouldnt mind in the league match Carlow town did well in this area with a few short puck outs to counteract the rangers tactics of pulling corners to wing forward and wing forward back. Very much ala kilkenny. Game was over in 15 mins and the second half rangers slacked off i suppose all the games lately might as well exert themselves in the final and best of luck to them in the final lets hope its a cracker from the two most tactically aware teams.
Crazy decision subbing the keeper.

As for carlow town GAA club. The sucess of the senior team does not disguise the fact the club is still not right. Look at all the players that didnt play this year!
Best of luck to the minors they have a great chance
