What a stupid question, yes we may not be doing well in the last few years but if everyone had that attitude you may as well have a championship for 4 teams!!!! Keep the faith and think the lads will come good in next couple of years. ced1980 (Roscommon) - Posts: 62 - 09/07/2009 10:57:44 338551 Link 0 |

no county should ever give up football if they can find 30 lads serious about football. and ive seen ros play a good few times and they should def not give up football. I've seen my beloved county and club been hammered more than once and would hate to see them give up. and if jack l is a roscommon man he shouldn't bother supporting them not the kind of fan a county needs. ggig (Meath) - Posts: 77 - 16/07/2009 21:37:59 349029 Link 0 |
I merely saying that perhaps a year or two out of the limelight might work wonders. Have a tier system similar to hurling. Jack L (None) - Posts: 3182 - 16/07/2009 23:08:21 349163 Link 0 |
Im startin 2 think ye should! Ahh no but seriously, sort out yer teams, get a few more decent players and ye might be as good as mayo! SandraBallagh (Mayo) - Posts: 13 - 01/10/2009 12:14:45 441839 Link 0 |
I don`t know what you`re on about sandra ballagh. Ros Fan 1 (Roscommon) - Posts: 192 - 01/10/2009 13:16:36 441903 Link 0 |
I believe over the past few years that Ballagh is in Mayo. They compete in the Mayo championship. Jack L (None) - Posts: 3182 - 02/10/2009 07:58:17 442702 Link 0 |

Just curious as to why they play in Mayo. Is it because of the higher standard in Mayo. Perhaps other clubs close to the various borders should follow suit. Jack L (None) - Posts: 3182 - 02/10/2009 17:10:06 443231 Link 0 |

It would be wise, clubs going to other counties. At least in Roscommon they may win a championship which they would unlikely win in another county. Jack L (None) - Posts: 3182 - 05/10/2009 12:35:16 445270 Link 0 |

I seriously reckon that Roscommon will make an all ireland qf within next couple of seasons, iv seen two excellent under 21 teams in the last two years being in very hard luck not to win at least ohe ne connacht final, add that to the recent minor success and some of the players all ready at senior and i think that roscommon will be hard bet. Shine is a serious freetaker, Cregg and O Gara are top players, as is Domnican at the back. Heneghan Killelea and Kenny from St Kevs. There is definitely potential there. Not sure what story is with older guys Cox, Dineen, O Neill. But if they get there act together there is no reason why they cant at least push hard in Connaught. snap (Mayo) - Posts: 54 - 09/10/2009 16:08:49 449774 Link 0 |
roscommon are one of the poorest counties because there are so many of the minors allready on the panel does it not say that whats there is not good enough .In any of the strong counties it is unheard of so many minors making it on to a senior panel there is nothing there.roscommon need to go back to basics and coach football how it should be and get out of the form of ruby that they play,a few clubs are changing in fairness namely st bridgets and pearses to name a few,as for ros in an all ireland I dont know behindtheditch (Galway) - Posts: 333 - 11/10/2009 10:35:50 450983 Link 0 |
They made the correct decision to stay at end. A Connaught Final now beckons Jack L (None) - Posts: 3182 - 28/01/2010 22:00:09 545638 Link 0 |
Stupid question and stupid thread! Jack L whats the point of it? Honestly, Do you think a county, any county would give up playing our national sport, just because they are not in the top 5 of Ireland? Or because of some fellas opinion on a public website? Winning is not everything and many agree its the love of the sport that keeps us going. To have won an all ireland in 2006 was a livetime moment of alot of Roscommon people, and I know its hard to see if it could be dont again, but we did it and I for one can die happy that I saw it, a team against all odds won in a well deserved exciting game. rossielassie (Roscommon) - Posts: 672 - 29/01/2010 18:36:04 546428 Link 0 |
After what I saw today..they probably should quit football, as much as it pains me to say it! Rossies4life (Roscommon) - Posts: 178 - 07/02/2010 21:30:05 554533 Link 0 |
