That is very true Dc won the Mc Cartan Cup, DC hurlers also won, and DC Ladies team beat Notre Dames.

THE FIN That is true, DC won the Mc Cartan cup, DC hurlers won, and DC ladies beat the Notre Dames ladies, but DC ladies refused to play the Mairead Farrells which is the best team in Philly. They beat the Notre Dames on Sunday by a cricket score, so maybe that was why they did not want to play them. I have to say though that Washington are becoming a much stronger division, they made the right choice in breaking a way from Philly. At the moment they are improving while Philly would be going back every year. The Kevin Barry's proved on Sunday that they are a very good senior team, their 12 point win over the 4 Ps was clear cut. The Mairead Farrells win was also clear cut I cant recall the score the score board man left at half time. the trouble here in Philly is we have lost to many teams and there is no real competition.

Washington are doing very well this last few years, their hurling team has improved big time. I did not realise that the tournament was run by the North American Board, I must admit the Boston guy done a great job.

I was a great tournament, very well run, we should do more of that, invite teams from other Cities and give our teams here better competition. We would never have known how good the Barry's were untill we seen them up against a good team. I believe this is the way forward for Philadelphia.

It was a great tournament on saturday, especially when we won all of our 5 games, womens football and hurling included DC unbeaten in philly that hasn't happened ever. It was well run and 95% of the philly people who we played against are great. And we have 4 mens football teams in our division, not bad for being started 3 years ago. But again thanks for the games they will do us good for boston and we'll see you all next year hoefully.

i cant figure out this tournament that the north american board ran???? the only tournament they ran was the one between four p the barrys and young irelands. i would like to say a very good job to the chairman of philly being up there early saturday morning gettign things ready and the only two football teams that help with the field and with the food for the tournament, the notre dames and eire og. and are we all this immature that we have to come on a website and bash different teams that a senior team out of philly is beating a junior team by a cricket score and that teams bosting coming up from washington winning every game they played? everyone knows how tough it is to keep teams together especially when teams are going up and already winning by 12 or more points and still going for goals and tryign to make little of teams. well congratulations to all those teams that did win on saturday and sunday there actually was a bit of good football to watch up there even though everyone here likes to run it down. good luck in boston to all teams as well.

Did Kerry stop scoring last Sunday when they were beating Dublin by 12 points, did Tipp stop scoring goals when they were beating Limerick to day. I never heard such nonesense.

Yes but kerry or tipperary never caught the ball ran in an out of defenders thirty yards down a field making little and in the back of the net. kerry and tipperary would tapped it over the bar first mission they got and if someone was running through and the ball dropped in fair enough, back of the net but there isnt any need to win a ball run thirty yards through defenders and back of the net when the game is already over.

It would seem Help GAA has never been involved in coaching football at any level.
Have you ever read a coaching manual; the most important mentality to have in your team is the never give up and never let up mentality.
How many times have you seen a team down 5 or six point and coming back and wining the game? The never let up mentality that you want to instill in your team is never let up when you are in a lead, always figure the game is nil nil tie and keep going.
Always remember NEVER GIVE UP and NEVER LET UP

No one is asking any team to give up or let down but there is no reason to run 30 yards and back of the net in a game thats over and also in a game that a senior team is playing a junior team which both teams are struggling enough to get players out and things, why make fools of any team. And if your so keen on not giving up and keep goign forward what did the Kevin Barrys do Thursday night, kicking a ball 30 yards to their backline on a free where they could have put over the bar.All these people complaining about it and all you ever see is 3 sometimes 4 people up there trying to make it better and fix things. I think we all need to grow up and start working together a bit, and try to bring Philadelphia GAA back as one of the top cities in the country.

I would say that refusing to take a scoring opportunity would be the ultimate insult you could show to an apposing team. Help GAA wise up, the more statements you make the more foolish you are showing yourself to be.

i was at that game it wasnt a scoring position it was a best 55 yards from the net and to be honest i think it was a tactical ball to kill time dont forget barrys had 11 men on the field against 13

It has taken me some time to really condense the content of the post by Help GAA, it is so ridiculous. I detect from some of the content that he or she may be a board member.
I could never imagine any self-respecting player failing to take a score, certainly if a team was very far ahead I could see a good coach giving his bench a run and using his five subs, but not deliberate kicking a ball away.
To insinuate that three or four who go to the field early to set up are the people keeping the GAA going is quite insulting to a lot of people.
How about the men and woman who will be starting in the fall again to do fund raising to keep their teams going for another year, organizing golf outings, beef and beers, dinner dances, to make sure they have the finance to meet the needs of their players which is quite substantial these days.
The managers and trainers of all the teams who give of their time every week to make sure they have their teams the best they can be when there game comes around on a Sunday.
While we all appreciate that there is the work of getting a field ready, and doing the gates and so forth and I respect the work these people do, but to suggest that they are the only people keeping the GAA going is at the least egotistic, at worst very insulting.
The GAA in Philly while it may be going through a rough spell at the moment it is still going, and there are a lot of people to thank for that.
I would like to wish all the Philly team's success in the finals in Boston do our City proud and bring home a few cups.
