Moy GFC. You are so right, in my opinion Philly is the worst division in North America, for a City with a large Irish population it has the worst competition. Two teams junior A at best, Hurling junior D at best, I have never seen the girls teams play this year.

What has happened to the hurling in Philly, Shamrocks won Jr A last year and this year are Jr D, did all the hurlers go home or playing football. DC gaels were hoping to have some competeive games with them this year but even the Gaels would be wasting their time playing the sharocks.

Stop this nonsense that there is any competition in Philly. The lads will get a game in Boston at the playoffs and that will be their football for the year.

I cant understand why people come on to this website to bash Philadelphia. I believe they are trying to get things going right now and could use the support from everyone to make better football in Philadelphia and to send better teams to play the Bostons and Chicagos and San Franciscos. So instead of bashing it or being cocky lets try and promote it. I dont think Philadelphia needs people coming on saying there is no competition in Philadelphia just go to Boston. This is why players are not going to Philadelphia and going to all the other cities.

The game on Sunday I hope will be decent, very few summer players came to Philly this year, we need to do something about this and make Philly attractive again.

The game on Sunday was a fair game some spells of very good football, a twelve point win for the Barry's was pretty impressive, they have some very good players.

The football in Philly has gone down a lot over this last few years, but in fairness so has all the other cities as well.
The games in Boston New York Chicago and San Fran are nothing like they were in the eighties, but I believe Philly has gone down the most.
The youth program in Philly does not seem to be providing any young American players, a few on wiew yesterday but made no impact.
Their has been no new blood from Ireland in years, so the base of all the teams will soon be none existent.
I think they should start a proper youth program here as soon as possable.

They will put out their strongest team, The Barry's and the few players from Young Ireland it should be a strong enough team. The Navy have a very good team all decent players.

The Kevin Barrys beat the Four Provinces. Pete McElhill had three points from play late in the second half, making the difference.
