The new surface is Croke Park is incredible,The fact that it will have to be relayed next year seems strange though when the likes of Thurles and Páirc Tailteann have equally good pitches which have been there for years, the GAA would be wiser getting it permanently done in my opinion keep_the_faith (Meath) - Posts: 400 - 20/06/2009 22:38:59 318018 Link 0 |

Now this is Casement Park, certainly in the North, and no one disagrees. It has the best surface of them all. patrique (Antrim) - Posts: 13709 - 21/06/2009 00:45:10 318071 Link 0 |

I suppose being from Cork I'm partial to the "park", Pairc Ui Chaoimh that is to anybody outside of Munster. Although I have to admit the grounds have not aged so gracefully. Built in 76 it was rated one of the most modern stadiums in Europe and while it is still the one of best places to watch a game (either from a packed terrace {which in 1976 were slated to hold 17,500 and both stands held 10,000} Needless to say due to safety the terrace capacities have been significantly been reduced. There are plans to build a new stadium which will hold 60,000 but I have to wonder how we are going to fill it! northside (Cork) - Posts: 17 - 21/06/2009 04:56:20 318109 Link 0 |
