Semi-finals won't concern you, or your beloved slashers hanley!

Abbey will be fine without nialler, they'll still reach the final...

Fair point mememel. Many people think Ardagh will be the whipping boys of the quarter finals but the have the ability to cause a big upset on the basis of what I've seen. They have disposed of Connollys and Mostrim comfortably so far in the championship. This weekends game against Abbey might be a better reflection on where they are.

Semi-finals at last. Interesting battles ahead. Abbey V Dromard, I hear it is the Saturday night game. Abbey beat Slashers without Niall Sheirdan. Pauric Berry and Colm E Smith were only 50% fit according to them... They took the lead on then shut up shop. They have a strong backline and are getting a lot of players behind the ball. It will be interesting to see what tactics they will have against Dromard, I guess the will crowd them out as well.
Dromard just about got over Killoe. I taught that Killoe were the better team for most of the game, but needed to score more points. Dromard have a lot of good young players, but it was the usual suspects who pulled them through, Conefery's, Bull Masterson and Martin. McGee and Minnagh setup a lot of attacks/scores, but need to start knocking over some scores them selves.
Clongluish were excellent against Colmcille. Colmcille were just a pale shadow of 2008. The need to get a few backs and bring back Donie McKeon up front. Clonguish have lots of talent, as we all know, but the struggle in the backline. The look like the will out score most teams in an open game.
Ballymahon beat Ardagh in a tought battle. Ardagh have been well organised this year, but suffer from the lack of quality forwards. Ballymahon are also well organised and a big plysical team. Mark Connor is again their main score taker. They have strong backs and a strong midfield. The could touble Clongluish if the can man mark them.
So, for me it:
Abbey V Dromard - Abbey win. 1 point
Clongluish V Ballymahon - Clongluish win, 4 points

Won't be supprised if I am 100% wrong!

Acemon - good to see someone talking sense on here for once.

I think both semi finals are going to be hard to predict especially the abbey dromard game. I've fancied abbey all year but was a bit disappointed with their struggle against slashers. I think if dromard forwards have their scoring boots on they could possibly snatch it. Smith and bull battle at midfield will be key to how this game turns out. However with sheridan back and berry back to 100% I think abbey might have enough to scrape through by a point or two.
The other game is also hard to predict, clonguish looked very sharp against colmcille however they only have their few danger men who are well known. Ballymahons defence may well be able to stop their danger men they did a good job on slashers and ardagh didn't register a single score in the second half on Sunday. If this is a tight low scoring game which I think it will be I fancy Ballymahon to get through but there's always the chance clonguish will be on form and go to town on them!

Its an abbey ballymahon final for me.

well after seeing dromard scraping into the semi its hard to call. killoe could very easily be there if it wasn't for the week shooting of some of there forwards.some shocking shots taking.but only for that awkward bounce that caught out killoe and dromard got that lifeline of a goal id say killoe might just have won that game. and if they did i would have said killoe might be able to take abbey ,but cant see dromard beating abbey to be honest. not unless they get there act together. i think it'll be abbey winning the title this year.

didnt get out of 2nd gear against killoe and still won easy in the end. dont think we are good enough for a full strength abbey though. hope im wrong! clonguish to beat a poor ballymahon side by 6

In Memory of Hanley:
Never mind the league results when did we ever care about the league we're a championship team. We are head and shoulders above any other team in the county. On current form we would hammer the county team. Based on there performance against Wicklow not one of the county team would be good enough to get on the county team...FACT.

And the best intermediate team is our intermediate team.

We're doing more for football in the county than any other club we have at least 4 yes 4 under ten teams, I think we've got the same at under 12 and 2 under 14, no other team can beat that.

Miss you....

Anyone see Glen Ryan attending the QF games ? I hope he is cause surely that essential?
If he attended the Clonguish game then he would have seen that Paddy Dowd is one of the
best players in the county and should be of been starting against Kerry and defo should be
the 1st name on the team sheet in Midfield next year !

As for the semis, I'm betting for a Dromard-Clonsih Final where you would see some of the best
forwards in the county on display, the bardens, mimnagh, mcgee, martin, etc. ! I wouldnt write
Abbey off with Berry, big Niall and Smyth playing well they could be thereabouts. Can't see
Ballymahon getting any further

pearsepark i have to disagree with you.it will be a abbey ballymahon final which can go either way really. clonguish and dromard wont have the steal to deal with either team in the semis. If there is going to be an upset it will be in the dromard abbey game.
