KILLOE V GRANARD. Granard to win here in a poor opener, both teams struggling at the moment.
ABBEY V CONNOLLYS. Agree, abbey to win easy here 10pts plus.
ARDAGH MOSTRIM. Tight game, ardagh to win narrowly.
BALLYMAHON V RATHCLINE. Ballymahon with few to spare.
SLASHERS V GAELS. Windys to snatch narrow win.
COLMCILLE V DROMARD. Draw here.
Reckon draw here could give mull a real chance to progress from tough group!

killoe v granard- there's only going to be one outcome
abbeylara v sean connolly's- there's only one team going to win this
ballymahon v rathcline- both teams have a chance of winning the game if they make use of the possession they get
slashers v drumlish- it could go one way or the other
mostrim v ardagh- its very possible both teams could win
dromard v colmcille- this will be a game of two halves

Titus - Any match I've ever been to has only ever had one outcome (a win, loss or draw) so your profound statement that there is only going to be one outcome really adds a lot of value ! Would you care to elaborate what that outcome might be ?

Even if I wasn't a slashers man I'd still agree with Willie Walloper.

Seriously without trying to sound to smart but what other team in the county have as good a team as us.

We've a solid set of backs, a good midfield and by far the best forwards. 3-16 against Drumlish proves it all. Remember this is only the first round and we're not even out of first gear yet.

Ballymahon next and they didn't look great against a very poor Rathcline team so the quarter finals are a formality.

We should give the Intermediate a great crack too as I guarantee our second string would beat most senior teams. Look at our subs bench Sunday how many of the Drumlish or Rathcline lads would make that?

In fairness Hanley Drumlish wer pretty poor at the weekend and will probab;y end up near relegation if they dont get their act together. Also the county title isnt won in June and maybe Slashers have peeked too soon but more than likely they'll wet themselves wen it counts later in de championship.

Longford Slashers 0-9 1-9 Sean Connollys
Clonguish 2-10 1-11 Longford Slashers
Abbeylara 3-9 1-7 Longford Slashers
Longford Slashers 1-8 1-12 Colmcille
St Marys 2-9 1-11 Longford Slashers
Longford Slashers 0-12 0-16 St Columbas

not a chance they will win senior championship

league form doesnt mean a fiddlers come championship time so it doesnt..the prob with the league this year is due to the bertie allen been cut, most teams are trying out players during it..about 5 teams could win the championship, its very open!

Lads just refer to my message posted on the 1st June re how this years championship will pan out. Again you do not have to be a genius to predict the last 4 as the draws are pre ordained. My prediction remains Clonguish will win the title beating Dromard.Slashers and Abbey will lose semi's. Of course injuries (see Clonguish last year) and suspensions may cause one of the above 4 to fall to a Colmcille,Ballymahon or killoe but unlikely. Odds available on Ladbrokes.com for the club championship.Go e/w on Dromard and Clonguish and you can't go wrong? Must admit i did think Mostrim would have performed better. Agree that the absence of Allen Cup has resulted in some teams fielding weaker league line up's in the league games and also teams know that once they finish in the Top 8 they will obtain a place in the Leader Cup qfinals. As for Slashers, i don't think we will get the opportunity to play keepy uppy's at half time in this years final but here's hoping we get there and perform better than last year. On the county front excellent draw getting Leitrim. Will be tough but we have a better team..marginally.Pairc Seain factor is huge however and that is my only fear. In Pearse Pk we would definitely win by a couple of points away may take extra time to decide.

Never mind the league results when did we ever care about the league we're a championship team. We are head and shoulders above any other team in the county. On current form we would hammer the county team. Based on there performance against Wicklow not one of the county team would be good enough to get on the county team...FACT.

And the best intermediate team is our intermediate team.

We're doing more for football in the county than any other club we have at least 4 yes 4 under ten teams, I think we've got the same at under 12 and 2 under 14, no other team can beat that.

hey hanley my friend chill a wee bit there about the mighty slashers, seem to remember them been destroyed by colmcille in the 2007 semi final and the 2008 final. they definitely have the talent but in my opinion they dont have the bottle to go the whole way, time will tell tho.

Slashers should be in a league of their own, literally.

yeah i also heard smith is home for the ballymahon game as someone previously suggested, would he get into that team though?

also heard glennon could be home for the quarter finals, should slashers get there which more than likely will happen now
