Justice is finally to be served as Dick Clerkin is set to have a 8 week ban imposed on him for the scenes in Celtic Part where he stamped on Fergal Doherty's moth causing it to bust and Fergal still has stud marks on his face 3 weeks after the incident. Finally the main aggressor of the whole thing is set to be banned. Fergal is by no stretch of the imagination innocent in all of this by Clerkin was under the radar too long and deserves 8 weeks a hell of a lot more than Freeman does.

Seen this story today in the Irish Mail on Sunday.

Tommaoo, it was seen on the video evidence used to support Fergal's claims of being provoked. Why should Clerkin get away with it?

Pair of them in it - only fair that both are hit with heavy suspensions.

PS Niamh hope you got your free ice-cream with your paper. From now on I'm only buying newspapers giving away ice-cream.

Dick Clerkin doesnt deserve a day longer than Doherty.

How nice of Joe Brolly to point out Dicks behaviour to the CCCC. In fact he should be running the CCCCCCCCCCC, obviously they arent doing their job or they would suspended dick weeks ago. Actually he should of been refereeing that game too then things would of been so much fairer.

If we asked him do you think he would help reduce Freemans ban? We will ask nicely...

Niabh its not Derrys or Brollys place to get involved in Gaa disciplinary procedure. If the ccccc cant see it why should a criminal law barrister get involved in a sporting incident. Why anyone can challenge our suspensions with barrister is a disgrace,

Big difference between a tap in the back of the leg with minimal and a boot in the mouth don't you think. It's certain he will get 2 months (sated in Irish times) if he is found guilty on the basis of stamping which is a category 3 infringement.

Niamh it seems you and Brolly will not be happy until all the Monaghan team gets banned for 8 weeks why ? are you afraid of meeting us again because you know we wont let you off the hook the second time.

Amazing the way Derry have succeeded in totally shifting the blame for the Celtic Park opener onto Monaghan - they obviously believe Monaghan provoked! A smug barrister and a heaps of deluded supporters.

The most ridiculous spin lately is that Conor McManus dragged Mullan down. BBC camera angle.

Always would have wanted Derry progress before the crap out of their camp lately.

I will be happy to see Tyrone end their Ulster championship next week. The bigger the margin the happier.

Your a bit of a wind up merchant Niamh, Doherty deserved his ban, as did Mullan, anyway doesn't matter, Tyrone will end your Ulster championship dreams and hopefully we'll meet again in the championship to settle the score...

You Monaghan ones aren't long in shifting the blame. Mullan should have got longer, but then its not the first incident of it's kind in recent months..

Niamh, you really continue to surprise and diappoint me with your naieve and immature approach to all of this. Do you REALLY think that Dick Clerkin was the main agressor to all of this ? Do you ? Has Fergal Doherty been sent off last year and the year before. Against Donegal in Ballybofey he thumped his man off the ball. He has an ongoing track record in this regard. In fairness to you, you thought Mullan deserved a long ban - has your view there changed ? That was a deliberate and dangerous action. You admit that what Tommy did (if anything) was minimal and he is being wrongly banned for 8 weeks. Do you really think that if we looked impartially at the tapes of the match (and if it showed up all the off the ball incidents) that there wouldn't be more Derry players banned ? Gillis running up and waving his fist inches from Tommy's face when Derry got the goal, is that provocation ? Other ongoing 'yellow card offences against Tommy. Dick gouged by Doherty. Constant baiting and intimidation. Paul Finlays marker stamping on the bridge of his foot at least once in the first half and hitting him several times after. These incidents amongst many others would come up. To you think it's manly to continue like this. I have never seen anything like the bitterness and hatred of your county, just for being outplayed and beaten by Monaghan two years running. I walked away from Celtic Park, gutted to have been beaten because we didn't take our scores. When I heard about the disgusting public campaign being waged against us by Brolly and his partner Tohill I was sickened and can only hope now that Monaghan retaliate in kind. It might result in Derry and Monaghan having 6 players left for the second round of the qulaifiers, but hey sometimes when your opponents are in the gutter, you have to stoop to fight back. Thankfully Tyrone will show how limited your football ability is next week and then Doherty and Mullan will get their comeuppance in the qualifiers. One things for sure, you haven't a prayer against a forewarned Tyrone, because they are simply at a higher level than Derry who always calf on the big occasion. Ulster's Mayo.

I dont like that this is still going on. It creates malice between these two teams and sets up more friction for when they meet again. CCCC should spend a week looking at games, decide who to cite and drop it....and taking the input of an outsider with a vested interest sets a very bad precedent to set. Yes, he may deserve the citation but it should be left to CCCC alone to take this action and to do it speedily.

Look Niamh, I like Derry and Id love to see another win in Ulster and go far afterwards, but this whinging from Derry is turning into a joke. Just focus on Tyrone and get over the awful, torrid bilge that was televised that day from Celtic Park.

PearseBro County: Monaghan Posts: 84 311166 I know you might feel bitter but this has nothing to do with football, and who beats derry if.This is about brolly and Derry dragging the ccccc down. Its disgusting talk about other players getting players booked,ex players and a county board getting players suspended is a joke.where will it stop Niamh i seen you fighting with tryrone supporters about suspensions hear you are calling for them

Niamh

This thread was not really needed. I will not defend anyone who strikes on any team. However I do not blame Joe Brolly for representing derry in the appeals process. What all of this does in my Opinion is strengthen the case for a proper and formal Trial by video as opposed to Trial by Television. And to end i will only hope that the CCC makes its decisions without fear or favour. If the monaghan player is guilty of the alleged incident then no one should be upset if he is brought to task. If he is innocent then no one should fear an investigation

NIAMH i think its time you looked at your own lovely so called footballers record, lets start with paddy bradley in 2007 got 3months for an attack on a ref, fergal logan from tyrone got him off and it was brushed under the carpet.YOUR CLUB TEAMS have a habit of knocking six shades out of each other every year and big fines and suspenions follow, then mr doherty last year against donegal, and this year against monaghan, and to top it all off you"s show your TRUE COLOURS whn----
