Less then a week and a half away now. To tell you the truth i'm a bit nervous about this one. Roscommon are a bit of an unknown quantity but i think we will scrape it by a few points. paddyogall (Mayo) - Posts: 5110 - 11/06/2009 10:28:42 307989 Link 0 |

I'd say the Rossies are secretly looking forward to this one. There's no talk about them and there's nothing expected of them. Fergal O' Donnell seems to have the team going in the right direction. As we in Galway and Mayo well know, the Rossies don't suffer from inferiority complexes...I think they'll have a right cut off Mayo and if the Mayo boys aren't prepared for it there could be an upset here. mayo 1/5 to win the game i thought that 1/2 wu be a fairer reflection 51longago (Mayo) - Posts: 2981 - 11/06/2009 13:00:18 308212 Link 0 |
I wonder what odds ya'd get for mayo by 25+ points? whiterbannnas (Mayo) - Posts: 2441 - 11/06/2009 13:12:21 308236 Link 0 |
You might beat them at football but no-one gets the better of them at nude pool. RAM85 (Westmeath) - Posts: 978 - 11/06/2009 13:13:27 308238 Link 0 |
I just can't see us doin it.It's Mayo's third year under o'mahony, you would think the pressure would be on him to deliver at least a connacht title.Hopefully Cathal Cregg mite get some gametime,he could do sum damage. If we could be close to them headin into the last 10 mins you would never know but I think it would take a lot to go our way to win it.Does ne1 know if its on tv? fredrickwood (Roscommon) - Posts: 2871 - 11/06/2009 13:24:26 308256 Link 0 |
i have been thinkin about this one 4 a while tryin to get a read off ros there league form there win against leitrim ,i have made up my mind Mayo win with ease .was at dublin challenge game and heard the louth game was poor as well forget that absolutley no way jom (not a fan cause of mac) will not have them up to pace ros will not be able to deal with pace and sharpness dillon will cut them open mayo to win by 6-7 pts.ok people will say oh im a bit too confident and people will say im simply wrong bot everyone is entitled to their opinion .To me ros have not improved greatly since the last drubbing we gave them in castlebar, yes they have gathered a bit of momentum but in a much weaker standard the leitrim win was overstated aswell leitrims league form was poor im sure sligo gave them a right roastinso galway beware your bannana skin seems to have more danger than ours (tribestown) 51longago (Mayo) - Posts: 2981 - 11/06/2009 13:32:45 308268 Link 0 |

Don't worry 51longago...I'm under no illusions at all that Galways trip to Markievciz will be a walk in the park. This thread is dealing with Roscommon and Mayo. Tribestown (Galway) - Posts: 89 - 11/06/2009 14:42:37 308325 Link 0 |
Its natural to throw caution with your predictions but i wont Mayo to win with ease granted ros have gathered a bit of momentum but all within weaker counties their win against leitrim was over hyped in here leitrim are as low as they have ever been dudnt sligo give them a good beating in the league so tribesman id be more worried about yer date wit kevin walsh if i were you.i was at dub challenge few weeks ago mayo were poor and i got similar reports from louth game i would totaly disregard them games jom (not a big fan ciaran mac factor) will have them up to pace and sharpness 4 the game v ros and ros will not be able to handle it dillon and two morts will cut throu them .I dont want to be too hard on ross for fear of gettin slated on ere like before but still a diff standard ..Mayo by 5 plus 51longago (Mayo) - Posts: 2981 - 11/06/2009 14:44:29 308328 Link 0 |

im glad that mayo are playing roscommon rather than leitrim. Leitrim are a more determined bunch with a great team spirit. oh and those people doubting keith higgins' commitment on here need to get real. he's a fantastic palyer, one of the first names on johnos team sheet ive no doubt. the fact that he plays hurling is his choice, his family are from a hurling tradition. mayo.rathmines (Mayo) - Posts: 3 - 11/06/2009 14:51:20 308335 Link 0 |
If the game was in the Hyde I'd fancy Roscommon to cause a shock. Castlebar.....you'd have to expect Mayo will win. Galway will win Connaught handy enough though as they have been steadily improving for the past 2 years. iarmhiman (Westmeath) - Posts: 140 - 11/06/2009 16:25:37 308448 Link 0 |
Id love to see roscommon play in leinster for a year, I think they would do damage. Seriously underestimated team. They are unlucky to be paired with mayo and galway every year. One of them is always going well TheMaster (Mayo) - Posts: 16187 - 11/06/2009 16:28:04 308454 Link 0 |
Well said the master.Lets have scores lads,I reckon Mayo 2-12-20 Ros 1-10. fredrickwood (Roscommon) - Posts: 2871 - 11/06/2009 23:47:59 309005 Link 0 |
