Saw the goals on the sunday game against Meath, looked like keeper made a horrendous error for the 1st goal and looked like no one marking his man for the 2nd goal as he looked to have waltzed in to collect the ball and stick it in the net, what went wrong?????anyone know????

Well i was at the game and nothing went particularly went 'wrong' they just weren't good enough on the day. Gannon had a good outing in goal apart from the first goal which (though i only saw in realtime) owed as much to Horan's cuteness as a defensive error. Second goal very soft, Cole drifted right away from Healy to collect a dropping ball which nobody claimed and gave Gannon no chance.
The fullback line held up very well, especially under considerable first half pressure, with Burke excelling throughout, winning almost every ball that came near him. Phelan battled gamely as did Fox who moved to midfield in the second half. Niall Healy had a woeful start though he settled in the second half and got into the game more. McMahon was good throughout, especially second half before his unfortunate injury, don't know if its a break or cruciate injury but it looked horrific. Kennedy was generally solid if unspectacular.
Midfield battled away gamely but Meath were stronger in this sector and had a grip for long stages, similar story in the half forward line, Mythen struggled a bit first half but grew into the game second half, similar to a lot of the players really. O'Dwyer worked very very hard and tried his heart out, broke an amount of ball. Finn looked dangerous whenever he got on the ball, which wasnt often enough (not his fault) Vaughan spent the whole first half waiting for his man to miss the ball (which he didnt) but was much more prominent on the resumption and took his goal well, McMullen scored a couple of neat points, one cracker in the first half, but struggled to make a real impression otherwise.
Basically Meath were stronger overall in halfback, midfield and half forward lines for the majority of the game, though McMahon's injury came at a bad time as they had cut an 11 point deficit back to 3 and Meath were clearly badly rattled.
You would have to expect Meath to beat Wicklow and regain Ring Cup status, personally i think they should look at regrading London too, with the economic/emigration situation they will only get stronger while most other counties will weaken.
