While the '91 saga was entralling it was hardly classic football. However, the remainder of their encounters in the late 80s and remainder of the 90s are very much to be given a wide berth. I believe the term "pulling and dragging" was coined in this period. Certainly could teach the Ulster lads a thing or three about puke and negative football. Ah disappointed lads. While your football is puke I thought you could at least take constructive feedback. Sorry lads thought there were GAA men home! Real Louth fan (Louth) - Posts: 3157 - 29/05/2009 16:33:03 297515 Link 0 |

Ah come on lads you aren't seriously suggesting Drub V Mead grudge matches are anything like the school of GAA excellence that is Ulster football? Mossbags what is the official HS stance on that one? Real Louth fan (Louth) - Posts: 3157 - 29/05/2009 16:47:04 297534 Link 0 |

I'm well aware of where Louth is. I just thought we should examine where we are as a province in footballing tersm as oppsoed to Ulster. We lag way behind and for posers to slag off Ulster as being negative when Leinster has the two biggest negative influences on the game in Meath and Dublin. I hope this changes. Louth are one of those counties who are envies of Meath big time,It's hurts them terribly that it's been so long that they have beaten them in the championship, hard to have played much "puke football" with players of the class of O'Rourke,Flynn etc and then Giles,Geraghty and Ollie Murphy later on... ziggy32001 (Meath) - Posts: 8354 - 29/05/2009 19:36:12 297652 Link 0 |

I think the Louth fans are just a 'wee' bit jealous that they don't have a rivalry to shout about..... paddym123 (Meath) - Posts: 367 - 29/05/2009 20:38:11 297678 Link 0 |
Dublin V Meath was entralling in 1991, but Down won the All Ireland, a bit lucky to beat Derry in Ulster. patrique (Antrim) - Posts: 13709 - 29/05/2009 21:15:44 297692 Link 0 |
