illbustya, i'd agree with you there but i have a strange feeling that the Emmetts are hoping clubs will think exactly that and when knock out comes around they'll come out of the fire. True they haven't been playing well but they've yet to field a full team in the Championship and the players there missing are actually some of there better players. Lads, yere deadly optimists altogether,Emmetts have yet to qualify for the semi finals. There is a small chance that if things went against them in the last few games they could be out of the semi's,unlikely i know but possible none the less girls. stranded (UK) - Posts: 408 - 12/08/2009 16:47:40 389701 Link 0 |
Tracey's 5-12 McCurtains 0-3..... could we have a situation that IF Traceys beat Emmetts next weekend then last years champions could exit the championship? Sean Howlin (None) - Posts: 175 - 13/08/2009 00:22:31 390244 Link 0 |
Some win for the Treacy's last night, wouldn't it be a laugh if they beat Emmetts by 20 points and went on and won it, are you placing odds on that illbustya. And before people say it I know McCurtains were missin half their team, they have more than likely just relegated themselves last night Buster66 (UK) - Posts: 119 - 13/08/2009 09:00:02 390294 Link 0 |
would need Paul Ryan (honeymoon) and Conor Hogan (broken collar bone) back to be beating Kilburn, light in the forwards when both are missing as was shown by 3 points last night. Rosineri1 (UK) - Posts: 2099 - 13/08/2009 10:11:20 390337 Link 0 |
After looking at the scoring difference i think the Treacys would have to beat the Emmetts by 27 or 28 points for them to qualify ahead of the Emmetts. It could happen, anything is possible however, its doubtfull they will beat the emmetts never mind beat them by 28 points. My odds remain the same lads until i see the draw for the semi's. Am i right in what i say re the scoring difference?? illbustya (Leitrim) - Posts: 76 - 13/08/2009 12:41:36 390518 Link 0 |
lads at the end of the day there is no chance of traceys beating the emmetts.been out a few times this year watching them and have only seen niall healy and tom twomey playing 1 game.think everyone knows there still the team to beat but it would be good for london hurling if someone could give them a game when it actually matters.can see the same thing happen as a few years ago when they scrapped through and went on to win the all ireland. dellhorno (UK) - Posts: 1 - 13/08/2009 16:07:43 390855 Link 0 |
Emmets curently have 4 points, They should only have 3 because Gabriels beat tem by a point but was put down a draw. If Tracys beat emmets they'll also be on 4, which means emmets should be out and tracys would be trough. Now thats a major major error by a ref. This is unfair and should be sorted out. H O T D, I'm not tied to any partticular club but I was at the Emmett's Gabriel's game and the result was most definitely a draw, Emmetts first point was not marked down on the score board so the score was wrong from the first couple of minutes. HOTD. You are completely wrong in what you say re the emmetts. Their game against the gabriels ended in a draw according to the referee. The score board is just a guide for the spectators and thats all.The officiall score is whats written in the referees note book and thats all that matters i think.Im trying to be fair here to both clubs but i have been to many a game in ruislip and seen the score board wrong in many occassions im afraid,so all in all i believe the game was indeed a draw and i have also heard that when emmetts got the equalising score in that game that from the resultant puck out it was caught by an emmetts player who went on a solo run and was just about to strike it over the bar from 40 yards out only for the referee to blow the whistle on him,now that seems more infuriating to the Emmetts to have only drawn the match when in fact they should have won it!!!!!!. illbustya (Leitrim) - Posts: 76 - 14/08/2009 12:19:33 391933 Link 0 |
Lads just heard that the Gabriel's got the points against the Emmett's, therefore if the Emmetts lose to the Treacy's and the McCurtains beat Kilburn the Emmetts will be relegated, bearing in mind that both wins would have to be massive. I wouldn't be exactly shouting for the Emmetts to win the championship again but tellin them almost 3 weeks after the game that they've lost is pretty bad considering that they have probably let a few lads go on holidays for this match. So what happened as a result of that meeting? Sean Howlin (None) - Posts: 175 - 20/08/2009 11:01:03 397957 Link 0 |
Basically the table goes like this Buster66 (UK) - Posts: 119 - 20/08/2009 13:13:08 398124 Link 0 |
I have only just heard about the u turn that beano did re his report on the emmetts v gabriels game. How in the name of jaysus could he tell both teams that the game ended in a draw and then let other championship games be played the foolwing week by both clubs and 2 and half weeks later submit a report saying that the gabriels actually won the game and he made an honest mistake, honest and beano do not go in the same sentence. This is the most shamefull thing i have ever heard anyone do to a club and he should resign or be suspended immediately for these under hand tactics. If anyone can come on here and tell me that what he has done is acceptable then i can tell you that we should give up gaa in london. The whole CCC and county board are completely corrupt and rotten to the core, you only have to look at the Michael Cusacks club and their behaviour and the county board turn a blind eye to all their illegal players. barrywhite (Tipperary) - Posts: 4 - 20/08/2009 17:27:39 398442 Link 0 |
Have to say lads what I witnessed in yesterdays match between Emmett's and Treacy's was a disgrace, under no circumstances should a player ever strike a referee, absolute disgrace. Emmett's have some fine hurlers playing for them all over the field there's no reason why they need to stoop so low. On the plus side for them, they played better with 13 men and probably played the best they've played all year. With the amount of players they have injured surely players would of had more sense to be getting sent off. Is this the beginning of the end of Emmett's dominance in London hurling? Buster 66 i wud like 2 say that the player never struck the Ref as i was on the sideline at the time he push him with his shoulder NOT STRICKING so get u facts right please. The player in question has openly said he was wrong and is ashamed off his actions he has never done this b4 or even thought of doing it b4 or will he repeat this. If any1 knows this player its completely of character 4 him 2 even get sent never mind his actions afterwards. Even he knows that its something that should never happen 2 any ref and the last thing we need is people trying 2 rub his name into mud. I fancy emmetts to lift the cup again, players however will need to bahave themselves. I know the ref's are poor but you cant strike a ref. Does mattie maher not ref hurling anymore? Informer (None) - Posts: 185 - 26/08/2009 17:24:29 405181 Link 0 |
