How do you's see this one going lads,im not at all confident of our chances, our midfield not been performing well and Derry have one of the best in the Business in Doherty and now Derry have another forward to worry about other than the Bradleys so im worried. smallballs (Monaghan) - Posts: 151 - 20/05/2009 13:03:07 288847 Link 0 |
I think that Derry are favourites... But this will give Monaghan some motivation to actually play with some passion so I'm hopeful... A_Border_Bandit (Monaghan) - Posts: 95 - 20/05/2009 14:15:26 288945 Link 0 |
With a name like smallballs you've a right to be worried. Only kidding... Fancy Monaghan to win a very tight game. 1pt in it I reckon. derfil1 (Kildare) - Posts: 1612 - 20/05/2009 14:29:45 288973 Link 0 |

Think Derry might shade her by a point or 2 Plastic Paddy (Tyrone) - Posts: 664 - 20/05/2009 14:52:52 289009 Link 0 |

Derry Team is announced. Tim_NicebutDim (Monaghan) - Posts: 347 - 20/05/2009 14:55:22 289015 Link 0 |
Think It'll be a draw at the end of 70 minutes, and then Derry will win the 10 mins each way extra time as they have more on the bench than Monaghan in the way of scoring forwards, mark Lynch, Seamus Bradley, Mullan Brown etc as well as new face Caolan O Boyle who has been on fire for his club recently. Some Derry lineout... Very strong team there A_Border_Bandit (Monaghan) - Posts: 95 - 20/05/2009 15:54:58 289097 Link 0 |
Derry missing 2 or 3 at the back,Muldoon and now Lynch. It's going to be tight but I think that in Celtic Park where they are hard to beat derry will ease through by a couple and I don't think it'll go to extra time.I just think they have more direction this year but it's not going to be easy against a confident Monaghan team that has beaten Derry for this past 2 years and rightly believe that they'll do it again. The rot might stop here though. northpole (Derry) - Posts: 739 - 20/05/2009 16:03:10 289113 Link 0 |
Like all games in the this province, I expect a match of free flowing, open football devoid of fouls, frees and cards. Anything less than twenty points EACH from both teams would have to be considered a big disappointment. I, especially, hope that it won't turn out to be like your average Leinster Championship game where there is all this fouling, pulling, pushing, shoving, hitting, punching, kicking, tripping, elbowing, kneeing, headbutting and general bad will to opposition players. derry are very hard to beat in celtic park, not too many teams come out of it with a win.they should have extra motivation with monaghan beating them 2 years on the trot so il go for a derry win by 3 points. orange and blue (Tyrone) - Posts: 1080 - 20/05/2009 17:42:57 289219 Link 0 |
Monaghan for me i think they always have few big ones in them and this is one of them. Dellboypolecat (Tyrone) - Posts: 15069 - 20/05/2009 17:46:38 289225 Link 0 |

I think both of these teams could be a handful for anyone in the Championship this year ... whether it's Tyrone, Kerry, Armagh, Galway etc. they face further down the road. That said, both will have to get past their inconsistancy if they are to make real progress at the business end of the championship. I think Monaghan have the potential to surprise Derry but this is a real 50/50 one- up for grabs to whoever wants it more. eiregocroi (Cork) - Posts: 201 - 20/05/2009 20:01:01 289348 Link 0 |
Fancy Monaghan to win Ulster this year, they cant play any worse than the league final. sean og (Armagh) - Posts: 1072 - 20/05/2009 20:35:41 289363 Link 0 |
