Lads, the bookies are never to far wrong, & their odds are generally a fairly sound guide to the order of merit in any province, & going on their odds,
Meath
Kildare
Westmeath
Laois

The Dubs have a challenge match against Down up at Our wee club in Carryduff this weekend. Havent seen them i9n the flesh in years but i hope to geta good luck at the Leinster champs.

I think people write off Wexford and Kildare at their peril and we could see one of these two meet Dublin in the final .There is no way Wexford will be as poor as they were in last years final should they get there again.

I expect Dublin to have too much for Meath in the first round.(Meath minor hurlers play Down before the Dubs on Sunday too)

As usual Meath will put their living best into playing Dublin. They have a good chance too and if they win
they can go far. If they loose they will probably go no-where.

Westmeath and Laois might be writing off Meath but Dublin certainly are not.

As for Leinster not being competitive? Nothing could be further from the truth, even in the last 12 months teams like Louth and Kildare are coming to the fore.... the fact Dublin are going for 5 in a row is testament to the Dublin panel - looking at some comments you'd swear Dublin strolled home in the last four Delaneys... Westmeath, Meath and Laois ran Dublin to the pin of their collar in recent years.

People just look at the finals against Wexford and Offaly and judge the province on those games... If you look at what counties targets in Leinster will be you'd say Wexford, Laois, Westmeath, Kildare, Dublin, Meath will all be looking for a Leinster title and Louth probably targeting a Final appearance...

Fancy Meath to put in a big show against the Dubs, and if they can win they'll take an awful lot of stopping. Tradition is a huge thing in Gaelic Football and Meath have it in bucket loads. Saying this though I still fancy the Dubs to just about have enough. Obviously hope Kildare can step up to the mark and reach a Leinster final. Once there I'm sure we'd give it a good rattle. Sunday will tell a lot about this Kildare side.

Wouldnt mind seeing Wexford and Meath clash some stage this year. Reckon Meath would be well up for it!!

yes Dublin are the team to beat but dont write the likes of meath out. also kildare with Mcgeeny over them wont be easy cracked, plus on their day Louth can be dangerous with the forwards they pocess

I can't see anybody outside Meath/Kildare stopping them,Dublin are the best team in Leinster then you have Meath/Kildare,the rest haven't a chance,Meath have the best forward line in Leinster so Dublin will have to get their defense together, would be great for Leinster if Meath where to beat Dublin and possibly set up a Meath/Kildare final..

liam - don't go mad but iv a confession to make. I dont rate bernard brogan... i rate jason but he's not a 70minute man anymore. i do rate vaughan but has more of an inside man,he is good out the field for crokes but at intercounty level id play him inside. connoly i think is very good and under rated but id play him as a half forward? davoran could be the find of the year i think,we know all about him here in rhode. is tiernan diamond on the panel?

Rhodejim I honestly believe that Bernard will become a better player than Alan - starting this season (if he stays injury free!)

RhodeJim, dont worry mate, i wont go mad :) You may not rate Bernard yet, but wait till u see him when he is fit and flying. He will be the best of them, and seeing as I rate Alan as a top 5 forward, well, I think he is THAT good. Jayo isnt a 70 min man your right, for the Leinster games I would start him, but against the Kerrys/Corks/Tyrones/Armaghs I would leave him off and bring him on with 20 to go. Superb link man and a great sub to bring on for so many reasons. Davoren did well but I wont be laying him in the team just yet. But hopefully sooner rather than later. Earlier in the year I asked was it time to drop Keaney. The man to his credit has been our best player in the league and when he is consistent and on form he has it all.
Vaughan.....2 words....who knows!! Tons of ability there. Who knows. Connolly, this has to be his year. Loads of talk abtou him, looks great for Vincents. Again, bags of talent. Time to shine.
As for Meath. Shane O'Rourke has been the "next big thing" for 3 years now! Any time this year Shane......whenever suits yourself like!
Cian Ward is a free taker and no more. Stephen Bray has HUGE potential but was poor last year. Bray is the only Meath forward I would say without doubt would start for us.
