Don't know what game you were at, Dr Phil but the Killan Gaels/ Cavan Gaels game was far from a poor contest. It was an extremely close game with both teams fighting hard for the win. But for a Fantastic Save from the Killan goalkeeper in the final minutes, it might have been a different story. Killan showed the greater hunger in the last 15mins and hats off to them. I'm sure the Gaels were disappointed but the slightly better team won on the day. SS1 (Cavan) - Posts: 196 - 21/09/2009 09:29:51 431577 Link 0 |

Lad09.. The reason s gaels won by 17+ in the black was cause kildallan didnt perform they did in da final & could ave won it but 4 a mistake in da bck line & a goal chance earlier on!! Bt any good luvk 2 da gaels in Div3 final good enuf 2 win it & hpe they do.. Intermidate2010 (Cavan) - Posts: 62 - 21/09/2009 18:59:38 432345 Link 0 |

why did baileborough need to amalgamate when they were fit to win the u16 a couple of years ago on their own, county board again have to look at this, surely if killan win this championship the b borough lads cant but wonder would they have won it on their own which would mean more to them natureboy.woo (Cavan) - Posts: 73 - 22/09/2009 12:15:55 433003 Link 0 |

i'm afraid that it seems that some of the shercock boys are actually carrying a lot of the bailieborough lads so i dont think bailieborough would have got very far on their own. same old story with bailieboro, as soon as the hit minor level they seem to leave the football or the football leaves them! dangordon (Cavan) - Posts: 16 - 22/09/2009 21:48:29 433719 Link 0 |
I Don't think it's fair, Natureboy, to be so dismissive of the Shercock Players on the Killan Gaels team. Its Killan Gaels that made the final, not Bailieboro and from seeing them play, the Shercock Players made just as big a contribution as those from Bailieboro. What happened 2 years ago at u16 is nothing to do with it. An amalgamation is about 2 or 3 clubs playing together. The Shercock and Bailieboro lads have clicked well and thats probably helped make them a good combined team. You seem to be the only one thinking otherwise and i would imagine you are just saying it to cause trouble. SS1 (Cavan) - Posts: 196 - 23/09/2009 08:41:49 434014 Link 0 |
I totally agree with "natureboy.woo". Balieboro should never have been alowed join with shercock. O.k, they had a bad league, but surely evryone makes a biger effort to come back from college for training before the championship right?, League is league and championship is championship, there is a monumental difference. Look at denn in the senior for example. Heres hoping to a ballyhaise double. galoping gazele (None) - Posts: 174 - 23/09/2009 16:31:48 434477 Link 0 |

Have to agree with Dr.Phil there. Young Monaghan had a brilliant game, constantly looking for the ball, and scored a superb goal. Defiently one for the future. Also the mid-fielder, doofy i think they were calling him, caught some ball at mid field, must have been glue on his hands. Duke was poor going by his high standards. Can see them winnig this division. With Smith, Lynch, Duke, Doofy, Conroy Tierney up the middle and players like Monaghan and the two Smiths for support. blowne (Cavan) - Posts: 12 - 24/09/2009 15:36:57 435397 Link 0 |
