Ur right there, Mike McMahon is a very good man to field a ball but to be honest he really doesnt know what to do with it when he catches it, but saying that he didnt field a ball against clare and in my opinion was a disgrace but he wasnt alone because no 1 really performed on the day. I think he is in the senior panel for training reasons because as you say he causes a real problem to whoever he marks by just being there and hes a good man to have training beside john galvin. He will never see a senior championship game. Based on Sunday i couldnt see any of the juniors making the senior team. John o Connell is usually good but wasnt on the day. p_squared2 (Limerick) - Posts: 210 - 11/06/2009 14:35:05 308317 Link 0 |

P squared i attented all the games last sunday and in my opinion your being very harsh,he caught at least four or five clean balls, the rest was breaking ball which players around the middle didnt have the same hunger as the clare lads to win,any man that knows anythig at all about football knows that no midfielder(no matter who he is)is going to be left catch ball after ball and its up to fellas around the middle to come up with the breaks. Just look at john Galvin, one of the best midfielders in the country,he didnt catch or kick a single ball last sunday and only handled possession about 5 times simply because he was targeted and fellas were content to break ball off him rather than contest it. And according to a man i was talking to in ennis who has been involved with numerous county teams and will be for years to come, mike has the skills and the right attitude to make a great midfielder so dont rule him out for senior championship action in the future. thewestawake (Limerick) - Posts: 3 - 12/06/2009 02:28:32 309088 Link 0 |
