Last year we had a very good panel, that won their first round over Tipperary, and were robbed of a munster final spot by a late cork goal.(Goal keeping error similar to the seinors). I think that, it is a grade we should pay more attention to, as the 2008 panel has given the seinors and U21s, players for 2009. This is very good for the development of the game in the county. A select few of this team could possibly cause a stir if introduced to the senior squad City_Gael (Limerick) - Posts: 97 - 27/05/2009 01:28:13 295047 Link 0 |

John O Connell and D McCarthy the best by all accounts!Who do they play in semis? claughaunabu (Limerick) - Posts: 65 - 31/05/2009 00:17:58 298126 Link 0 |
Not sure if Mike Quilligan is up to scratch for senior, lacks that bit of pace for senior. Sur he didn start for u21 team this year so hard to expect him to make the upgrade to senior at this stage. He is young though so in time maybe. LightningJack (Limerick) - Posts: 86 - 01/06/2009 16:59:27 298866 Link 0 |

mike quilligan is from ncw.he was the under 21's most dangerous player along with pa mullins,he missed training the friday night before the clare game and the manager dropped him.he's not very big but he can kick scores from both feet.its easy for a manager to train a fella to put in a bit of muscle not so easy to train a fella to have all the skills that mike has.also wat are ye're predictions for the limerick games this weekend? johncena (Limerick) - Posts: 79 - 01/06/2009 22:29:30 299099 Link 0 |

mike mc to be whipped ashore early and well win. ncw are a bad team and ye are blowing quilligan out of all proportion his an ok player . claughaunabu (Limerick) - Posts: 65 - 06/06/2009 23:49:37 303655 Link 0 |

You would have to ask the county board why they are only allocated five to six weeks to prepare. Even donie buckley couldnt whip fellas into shape in that space of time. I think it was more about fellas will and desire than fitness. fernandodonaghy (Limerick) - Posts: 74 - 10/06/2009 09:39:25 307004 Link 0 |

I notice on this page alone there seems to be a problem with mike mac from ncw. Both tmm and claughanabu have posted comments against him,i dont know much about him but i do know he is on the senior panel and by all accounts deservedly so,also i have seen him play on many occasions including tuesday night in the co league west section final against abbeyfeale, tom cahill only lasted 15 mins on him before he had to be switched and abbey had seroiud troule from their own kickouts trying to avoid him. All i know is he is as good a man to field a ball in the county and has a good work rate,i havent seen hardly any mid fielder get the better of him, both club or county, any time i seen him play,so i cant understand claughanabus call to whip him off early or his statement sayin ncw are a poor team either. Did they not beat ye this year claughanabu?? thewestawake (Limerick) - Posts: 3 - 11/06/2009 00:18:20 307882 Link 0 |
