Thanks to all for letting me get away for a week and still keeping the comp ticking over nicely! Also if any of ye are going on hols lemme know predictions for weeks you are away and I will accommodate ya if I can.

The five matches over the last two weekends saw a fair surprise with Fermanagh beating Derry (sorry Niamh!) and also Wexford taking Laois. Well done to Ballbhoy (!!!) who got all predictions right before the games - unlike his namesake! - and to Leitrim Lad who also scored 10 out of 10! GMG and Freddy15 still lead the way on 40 points with four players on 38 - CLG making ground here with 8/10 while all the other front runners got 6/10.

Its back to the drawing board for Dessie15 (obviously no relation to Freddy15!) and RoyalCountyStar who only scored 2 points this week - tut tut lads! I expect the action to really hot up when the qualifiers kick in so lots of points to be won yet all well as bragging rights so keep trying.

Only the annual Cork-Kerry Munster final next weekend so get your prediction in before Friday please to [email protected] - surely ye won't take all week this time!!!

Just on the issue of the exclusion of Tommy Murphy fixtures - the decision is mainly operational. Three weekends from now we will have 8 qualifiers and two provincial finals - thats enough for me to be chasing! Not counting potential draws from here on, there will be 53 games in the football c'ship - I think this will be enough to sift out a winner! (incidentally this weekend sees Match 27 - half way!)

As I have already reminded ye - only one fixture this week - Cork at home to Kerry, yet only a paltry 25 in out of 56 in so far. Please get them in to [email protected] before 1.00pm on Friday.

Well very little work for Jayo this week with only Macattack, Fr Tierney (divine intervention), North Side Gael and Ballbhoy scoring 2 points which looked beyond them at half time! Special mention to Ballbhoy who missed the first week when most scored 4 points and is now only 4 off the lead - one to watch. Good to see someone of that name with a bit of knowledge and tippping ability :-)

Next week we have the Mayo-Galway final so get them in to me at [email protected] before 1pm on Friday. We had 8 no-shows
this week and lost another player - Coco83 - leaving 55 still hanging in there!

PS I reckon I did serious scoring in the Hurling Comp this week with 10 right out of 11 ! Bit proud of that tbh - wish I could do it in the football!!

Just to clarify - as far as I'm aware qualifiers will all have extra time if level after 70 minutes. Your prediction will be based on score after 70 minutes. So if you tip Offaly and they win after extra time you get Nil points cos the game finished as a draw! Bit if you tip Offaly for a draw you get 4 points! Simple!

Don't mean to harp on but I'm going to !

10 matches this week means a minimum of 20 points at stake and 38 games gone come next Monday. Considering that there are only 15 games left (excluding possible replays) anyone who misses this week is effectively dead in the water. There are a couple of players who I haven't heard from for a couple of weeks but they have only lost 4 points (and not many tipped Cork anyway) so they are still there or thereabouts.

There are still bragging rights and the fun of getting out of the relegation zone so even if you are a lot of points down there is still some crack to be had - possibly an honourable mention for getting a full house! So getting your predicting caps on and get them into me before Thursday at 6!
