Replying To Kew:  "I think it would be great to finish croke park. Get rid of the hill as the dubs have stopped going to games.now is the time to make a move"
Finish it why? How much would it cost and for what
its not like the stadium needs the extra capacity It doesnt sell out enough to warrant expanding capacity

Kew strikes again! I suppose you'd be giving out if they did decide to extend (where is the next question but anyhow...). Can't win with you...

But it's not just a GAA stadium. NFL and rugby games already play there and if the soccer team improved they will be next to play. Burns said it himself it's a money making asset that can host concerts. croke park is falling miles behind modern stadiums and having it uncompleted is unacceptable given the profits the GAA make. Time to finish croke park once and for all. Have a train stop at the stadium for fans. Get a champions league final hosted. It's no longer a GAA games only stadium.

Yeah AKA. Have a train stop for the fans who think it's too far to walk to it from Connolly or Drumcondra. Build a station in between. Pay for it with monopoly money. Or maybe try living in the real world?

I'd be on the fence to be honest. On one hand it's ours and only ours. They've already ruined the all Ireland so they can have more concerts.

On the other, we've a world class stadium. Perhaps we should show it off a little more.

The age of the terrace is kind of gone, bit I doubt the dubs will like that.

In the future it will come to a stage that EU law will make Croke Park an all seater, insurance reasons also

I doubt it very much.

Modern German stadium almost all have terracing. Safe standing campaigns have been very successful and are seeing as the future."
Alot of English stadiums have already installed safe standing in the last couple of years.

There's already a large station there. Connolly is only a few minutes walk away.

rugby games only there because of leinster not having their own ground. when they move back to redeveloped RDS they wont be moving many games and if they do theyll go to Aviva.
Croke Park can get redeveloped with its own stands. Hill 16 doesnt need to be upgraded. its a waste to do so. it wouldnt ever be filled

Exactly. He's trying to be smart.
You can count one hand the number of games from other codes played there in the past couple of years. It has played host to almost 150 Gaelic games fixtures in the same time.
The demand for Croke Park from other sports will always be very rare, as very few fixtures will demand its capacity. Concerts are hosted in almost all large stadiums now, so the GAA are right to make money from this where possible.
Putting a stand at Hill 16 is pointless in my opinion. It already has a huge capacity which is very rarely filled. It would be very costly for very little benefit, apart from visually which seems to be important to work people.

The terrace looks great when it's filled

The players want the current setup and at the end of the day they're the main show in town. The rest of us will have to get over it. And more concerts are what's keeping the lights on at the moment, there would have a loss were it not for stadium rental income. Let's be honest, it's underutilised for a stadium of its size.

Reading some comments from NFL fans. Not too impressed with croke park screens. I know rugby fans don't like the smaller screens croke park use. Is it time to get a bigger screen if the are going to play games here? They are making plenty money to upgrade facilities. Some fans complaining about the toilets as well. It looked great on TV but with all the money GAA are making it's time to spend a bit on fans
