yeah solo - training holidays to spain, all-stars trips in asia and firework displays are a much better use of money than giving gaa people abroad a chance to play in the championship. The GAA in places like london and ny are great focal points for irish communities and their participation in the championship is a huge attraction, you might be aware that the gaa is about more than sport.

Probably more a waste of time Kilkenny entering the football championship. At least New York might have a chance if they take the Mayo lads out in the Bronx on the Saturday night for a few Coors light.

Lads this trip to america is certainly no expense to the mayo county board. Granted they will have to fork out for flights etc which is quite a bit of money in itself. However the amount of money made through banquets, sponsorship and selling county board tickets is very substantial. I have a feeling that even in these recessionary times the mayo county board will come back with more money than they went with!!

By the way solo. Kilkenny in the national football league....now that really is a waste of time!!!!!!!
