Supersub15: sorry bout that ,thought you might be one of the others. Just back from Parnell Pk, and while Im disappointed Im proud of the lads for the effort they put in. Thought the selectors should have moved earlier with problems we were having at midfielr and both wing forwards. B. murphy was out of it all day yet wasnt replaced until mid way thru second half, his man had a field day. Unfortunately d. hayden couldnt keep his mouth shut once again and this could possibly have cost us the game. Anyway well done to the rest for the spirit they showed and well done to dempsey for getting the best out of them. BTW shame on thomas walsh for turning his back on his county and also on the others who couldnt be bothered esp. the palatine brigade who didnt have one rep. there today......some club they are. dead_as_dodos (Carlow) - Posts: 459 - 17/05/2009 19:43:49 285768 Link 0 |
dead_as_dodos County: Carlow Posts: 34 ---------- No problem at all, and welcome back, ---- and yet even with your analysis of the game they only beat us by 2 points, we gave them a present of the goal, we scored one when we had only 14 on the field, they had 16 all through (including the referee) some legit decisions went against us and they cost us scores, the Derek Hayden incident was unfortunate but what was the ref. doing I dont think he knew himself so he irked hayden, and Hayden obliged, but I take your point and agree with what you said, but the less said the better. I'm delighted for Luke Dempsey and what he achieved against all the odds he now appears to have a loyal and committed panel, now that the Walk-away's have gone and the Monkey(s) are off our back, yeah, a couple of changes and/or switches could have been made sooner but do you think he had the resouces to do that, I'm looking forward to our next outing, -- and next year. supersub15 (Carlow) - Posts: 3247 - 17/05/2009 22:12:48 285925 Link 0 |

Well done to the hurlers on Saturday beating Kildare, never an easy assignment. Always good to play poorly and yet win. Great to have Foley back too, he is a great ball winner and is a menace to opposing backs. I know we should have scored more with a few easy chances missed, but some players are learning the hard way what it takes at this level, which is a step up for them, so looking forward to the semi final. carlowman (Carlow) - Posts: 1883 - 19/05/2009 00:36:42 287383 Link 0 |
Playing Kerry in the semi final on June 6th - couldn't have drawn Down and glad to have missed Mayo who have gotten two fantastic results lately. Onion Breath (Carlow) - Posts: 1628 - 24/05/2009 22:31:40 292492 Link 0 |
Bet Kerry twice last year in league and champ, and league this year but they have come on aswell and they will be a tough game in the semi's but well capable of winning again. fergie (Carlow) - Posts: 1120 - 24/05/2009 23:23:00 292561 Link 0 |
Kerry is probably best draw we could have got at this stage. Albeit they seem to have improved in last few weeks, 4-21 is a great score v Derry. Mayo are on a serious roll and id fancy them to take Down in other semi. The Real 1944 (Carlow) - Posts: 1114 - 25/05/2009 03:51:33 292658 Link 0 |
The quarter finals were neutral so I'd expect the semis will also. Could be Thurles or Nenagh. Onion Breath (Carlow) - Posts: 1628 - 25/05/2009 13:27:01 292954 Link 0 |
Since Mossie Carroll took over Kerry he is after transforming them into a very usefull side, so they cant be taken for granted and they wont be, Pete Finnerty was brought into the Mayo management set up last year, and after seeing our lads beat them by the minimium I said Mayo would be a major force this year and they are, I have no worries about our lads but I do have a concern about Kerry and a much bigger one about Mayo, having said all that Kildare were a very tired team going into the game last week, they were after playing 5 or 6 weekends on the trot, and but for that we may have seen a different result, it's a fairly well balanced competition and worth winning. supersub15 (Carlow) - Posts: 3247 - 28/05/2009 11:33:25 296370 Link 0 |
