Best St Pats Dungannon MacCrory cup team ever?

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

wouldn't know much about these teams, but have to say the young lad Thornton who scored the 7 points last year and penalty this year looks to be a big game player. And also Doherty for his man of the match last year. Never seen any of the big names play Macrory, but it has to be hard to exclude the likes of McGuigan and Gourley. Also remember Ray Mulgrew in Hogan final few years back, was the best player on the pitch. Wonder what would win, Academy MacRory Dream 15 or the CBS?lol..id vouch for CBS!!

understanding, if you look at my team brian mcguigan is included at 10. ANd Barry Donnelly is well worthy of a place. Ok he was involved with bad teams in the academy but the man can play anywhere. For bifhe he was the lynchpin at full back in a team that included collie doris, stephen mcneice, sean webb, alan fox who all won all irleand medals with st joes.

Brian Mcguigan played a much larger part than from the semi final it was in fact O'farrell and Herron who gave him the playmaker role he then adapted for the Tyrone minors that year so well also mulgrew isn't fit to lace his boots in my opinion hence he cant make the Tyrone senior team and a half fit Brian can, after the all ireland in '05 when Brian broke his leg then had an awful time with injuries peter canavan stated tyrone would not win the all ireland in 06 as they would miss the 'little genius' too much, anyway rant over there would be 30 players at least vying for the 15 however the 91 team and the 97 team should feature heavily as they were the trailblazers and the first to win the mcrory(91) and hogan (97) respectively and there have been some great players who have been through the school and never won anything such as Brian mcguckin and the like but Barry donnelly? I doubt it, mcgurk played full back in 97 and he is 20 times the player also one final point sean webb would have hard bother playing for BIFHE as he has been playing soccer since he was 16 so please try and be correct when you make statements.

redhandmick, seriously have to question your knowledge.possibly the worst calls ever.you're picking men ahead of players with more than 1 all ireland medal.one player has 7 of them yet you see fit not to pick him.hmmm i don't know.another you're omitting played macrory for 3 years....starting.you having a giraffe????

ok barnicles i mixed up sean and stephen, you got me there. I was too young for the 91 team, so none of them included. FFs lads i expressed an opinion and having watched trench cup and siegerson cup level games and Barry being the key man for BIFHE led to his inclusion here. Its just an opinion

Remember folks the 'best st.pats macrory cup team' doesnt necessarily mean the players you picked have to be included due to winning all-irelands e.t.c.... best players of macrory cup
