yea exactly I noticed in the programme that only 21 togged out for the semi final against Fr. Daltons but they had 31 named for the final! celticbhoy18 (Westmeath) - Posts: 58 - 22/09/2009 20:00:51 433576 Link 0 |
lads, do I detect a little anti- Brigids begrudgery beginning to appear. The fact is there is a dedicated samall group trying to keep hurling alive in the Dalystown area. It may be struggling with the football but as you saw there was no lack of passion last Sunday. These lads value the win as much or more than a football medal ... and they wont lie down in senior next year. Turin is a small club too and the best of luck next year - one better. jfd (Westmeath) - Posts: 256 - 22/09/2009 21:18:18 433672 Link 0 |

as the Turin lads used the same small panel of players for the whole championship. whereas Brigids appear to have parachuted in a few lads for the final, once the football was over manfromdelmonte (UK) - Posts: 541 - 23/09/2009 16:04:32 434441 Link 0 |
D simple fact of the matter is that panels always get bigger for a co final,we won a co final a few yrs ago & ders lads in the photograph dat didnt tog out dat yr & havent togged out since,d best team won on Sun & fair play to dem, however I'm not sure why --- pushed his hurl into Ray Augheys back when d final whistle was gone a few seconds, thought dat was bad form,Turin needed to produce a performance dat beat a disappointing Wood team but they couldnt raise their game.A Brigids-Wood final would've been interesting, not sure how it would've went. stonemadbeany (USA) - Posts: 617 - 23/09/2009 20:58:38 434733 Link 0 |
stonemadbeany i saw that at the end of the game and really couldn't understand it there was no need for it at all, very poor sportsmanship celticbhoy18 (Westmeath) - Posts: 58 - 23/09/2009 21:54:45 434782 Link 0 |
Have to commend the members of the Turin club who attended the funeral of Joe Quinn (St. Brigids) on Tuesday evening last, a wonderful gesture, thanks richardceann (Westmeath) - Posts: 25 - 24/09/2009 09:23:58 434958 Link 0 |
Well done to the Turin players on showing great respect for going to that funeral. There was a bit of niggle between Aughey and his marker during the game, there was two of them at it but it was a poor gesture. I think with every club you get guys who arent totally committed and go to a few training sessions during the year or play the odd game and turn up for the final. See it with every club. interested1 (Westmeath) - Posts: 105 - 25/09/2009 11:55:52 436179 Link 0 |
