I saw that during week bobby bouche but I hear that mc guill was out injured for over a year. Probably won't be good enough for senior football. Éire Óg have two top class goalkeepers at the minute in young Hennessy and Robbie Moore. Not a bad lad for Intermediate though!

Kildavin seem to be goin backwards. They're team of young hopefuls dont seem to have progressed. The loss of the two Kelly's, paul and aidan, are a huge blow to a small team. also dont seem to have anyone comin through for awhile yet to step up to senior after young st. ledger. Have Kilbride taken the mantle of best team near wexford border?

I see on Nationalist today that Eire Og are losing Cashin, Hennessy and Mullins, who are heading to Boston to play football for the summer. Despite having a bigger squad than most that is a big blow to their chances.
Cashin is one of the best defenders in the county and will be a huge loss, Hennessy had got the no 1 jersey there and is probably the best young keeper in county, and Mullins is a superb corner forward with lightening pace and can take his chances too as anyone who was at the game v the Blues will have seen.

EO have the squad to cover for these, but it without doubt will weaken the side to lose 3 players like that.

Anyone know of any other clubs who are losing players to America to play football or even to anywhere else due to lack of work here? If some of the smaller clubs lose a couple that could destroy their chances.

its ony 3 players eire og have a massive squad. think back to last year cashin was a sub till the semi final, mullins the same and young hennessy only got in goal cause of moore's sending off in the final. they have gerry mc guill back this year so that will cancel the keeper. and they have plenty of young lads coming up lookin for places. if a club like us ( blues) lost 3 players we might struggle. blues for conlon cup!!!!!

Bobby Bouché, saw the blues v EO in the league and was very impressed with them, the 3 lads going away are a huge blow for EO. Cashin is one of the best defenders in the county and I doubt EO could do without him, Mullins has been their top scorer in the league so far and has bagged several goals for them a classy player. Hennessy would push hard for No 1. They are lucky to have Moore I doubt Mc guill would make a difference saw him play against Askea for the Inters and he was very poor. The fact that Paul Farrell, john derring, james ruth and a few others are travelling abroad too doesn't help all good players regardless of how big a panel you have.

I think Ra'villy is going to have a big say in who lifts the cup this year.

Kilbride going well, even after losing two pivotal players in Foley at midfield and P. Nolan at full forward at half time and o toole at half back after just 5 minutes of the first half against tullow they still had the strength in depth to win that match, some people i have talked too have had no doubt kilbrides starting 15 are very strong but before the tullow match they had challenged kilbride's squad but the players that came on did well. I actually remember another foley brother playing corner forward against Kildavin/Clonegal and he done really well and with the kilbride juniors also going well with the youngest foley, anthony curry's youngest son(dont know his name),the new full back and the young half back line also flying they seem to hav a very strong squad with plenty of youth coming through nobody can challenge kilbride strength in depth, any opinions???

Semi finals on Sunday evening in DCP. 6 & 7.30 i think.

I hear that of the 3 EO guys who were meant to be going to US only Mullins and Hennesy went. Cashin didn't go, and is staying around to play with EO from what i was told. Can anyone confirm it? Will be a big boost to their chances in championship if true.

The Real 1944 - all 3 departed for US last Thursday week as far as I am aware - certainly hasn't been any sign of them round the club in the last two weeks. Contrary to reports in The Nationalist, they are not emigrating due the economy - they are all students in Maynooth and availing of a J1 visa. They are due to be back the last week of August which means that they will be available for selection for the latter stages of the championship should we make it that far.
